I have one of those packs. Superb pieces of kit. The back system is great and the air flow through the back is noticeably good. So good that, for days when it's cold, I'm going to put a piece of foam roll mat through the back to stop the air flow ! In mild and warm weather it's great.

Commented on your first video and I have to say that is the best most enjoyable video series of the WHW I personally have watched. Great weather helps but as you say you meet a great mix of people on this and many other walks. Your pronunciation was enjoyable as well 😜. ah! the end of a very nice journey, watching you has been a pleasure, a delightful journey indeed. No pitching the tent each night, no detailed explanations of what you are eating etc. On some other websites it is all they do, go out for the night, and cook, and repeat it in another location video, and again, who cares. That is not why you hike/trek the great outdoors, it is to drink-in the majesty of your surroundings, nature itself in all its glory.

I just got back from completing the WHW on Monday morning followed by a walk up Ben Nevis on Tuesday, I too lucked out with the weather and had an amazing experience taking time to enjoy a perfect little spot in the hills above Kinlochleven albeit still only 1ish in the afternoon on Sunday, sometimes as you say Andy, you just have to take that bit of time out from the ego rush of trying to finish asap and just enjoy the moments. Brilliant summary review Andy. My tip is not to take a hydration bladder for the WHW, plenty of water sources for a 0.6ltr bottle along the way...I emptied mine after day 1 only used it for big Nevis at the end. Subscribed.

Great vlogs Andy. Really enjoyed watching this little series on the West Highland Way. I walked this about 26 years ago with my uni pals. You have inspired me to walk the Way again with my eldest son next year! Love the gear reviews and practical elements of this as well. You provide some really useful advice especially around weight and cost of items. As we all know you often get what you pay for but sometimes there is decent gear at a more affordable price for people. Whilst we may not do so much wild camping and opt for some of the campsites, it is good to know there is an option for it and some decent spots. Thanks for inspiring me!

As you said, unbelievably lucky with the weather, it looked great all week for you - 5 days of sun vs 5 days of rain and wind clearly a completely different experience, especially wild camping 😅 Has encouraged me to consider booking a trip now I get closer to retirement - but maybe not in 5 days and maybe not wild camping, at least not every night !! Time to start planning me thinks. Well done on your axhievement 🎉🎉

Nice one Andy. I agree, I wish I’d taken longer to absorb the WHW. I ploughed through in 5 days too. Last day was from kings house hotel to fort William. I had no option as I’d twisted my ankle and damaged the porneal tendon and a huge storm was due within 24hrs. I also have the same pack. It’s my favourite pack. It may be 2.2kg but the way it carries feels like it offsets the load. Well done Andy. You’ve deserved your bath.
