Beautiful fall day! I need to research for places around my area to kayak and camp. We have tons and tons of rivers and creeks to kayak, just not sure about the camping part. It really looks like a good time. A picnic table is the golden ticket. Words of wisdom,never trust the weather report… ever. I find it wrong most of the time. Thanks for taking me along.

Another well done video. That first morning I think Runner wanted more then oatmeal for breakfast.!!!! Maybe bacon and eggs. That young couple have taken down that tent a time or two. Had a good system going. My oldest moved to Indiana and it feels like it's as far as China but they have to grow up. Thanks for the video and Take care, Al

Love the hammock set-ups on this trip! :) Love the Namekagon too. I hope to float the entire thing this fall or next. I have done several sections so far but would be fun to try to do the entire thing in one trip. I can relate to the tough fishing, often shallow and fast moving - but beautiful....

We are thinking about doing the whole Namekagon River. I have done a couple halves. But never the whole river. Been hiking the willow almost every day. One of these days we will bump into each other.

Wonderful trip! Thanks for sharing! If you like Kayaking, you really should try a "sit-on" Kayak. Much more comfortable and you don't have to care about if you get any water in it as it just drains back out!

Riverside is 3 miles south of my doorstep, know the area well. I was hired by the national park service to move cabins off the wild river when the leases ran out in the late 80s. I’ve hiked from the start of the St. Croix to county rd Y. And brush busted my way from county rd T to Riverside. The smallmouth are still plentiful on both rivers. But more so on the St. Croix.

Kayak Jousting!! (3:04) I'm sure Runner's underquilt is a 30 degree or so, but I've found the wind protector (6:08) isn't so good for zero degree underquilts if they're snapped in place. It's not low enough to accommodate the extra fluff and I end up compressing it with my butt. So, I just leave the wind protector loosely connected by the elastic straps. Or maybe snap at the upper snaps only.
@AdventureswiththeMarine10 ай бұрын
I have a Under Quilt protector from ZQ2Q that I have had for years. It will adjust perfectly on and size under quilt. And very lightweight. Another thing that I notice is the Multi purpose under quilt, may do the same. Thank you LousyFibs for watching. Much appreciated.

Great video Marine. Looking forward to getting up there soon. I am wondering what kayak you're using, I met you at the WFB hang and you aren't much shorter than I am. That kayak looks kind of small to me.
@AdventureswiththeMarine9 ай бұрын
It is a Wildness Experience Pungo 100. ( 10 footer ). The weight capacity is 300lbs. Not as fast as the 12 footer. But better for the rivers. I have used that kayak for 15 years. Took it up in the Boundary Waters many times. I named it the USS Turtle. It was so nice meeting you at the Frozen Butt Hang.
