This is so crazy! I have lived in Celeste for many years, work in Celeste, and graduated from Celeste School! Those numbers were shocking! Living here for years I haven’t heard of much crime! It is pretty quiet in town most of the time. The average age is 28 is also so surprising! I feel like we have such an older population. The murals are newer, the community and city works very hard to keep the town clean, and from what I hear someone is going to start fixing downtown! I love our little town of Celeste❤️

Celeste is about 60 miles from Dallas. That’s kind of a long drive for a daily commute but not bad if you mostly work from home and just need to go to Dallas for an occasional meeting (I work from home but sometimes go to meetings in downtown phoenix 35 miles away). So as metro Dallas- Fort Worth grows and expands (and housing prices in the metro area keep increasing) I’d bet a lot of these small towns will start growing as work from home people move in. My city of 275k was a small farm town 30 years ago before it became a phoenix mega suburb

Those birds you saw in a front yard are "Guinea Fowl" I believe they are native to Africa. When I was a kid my family had a few of them and kept them with the chickens, which were free range during the day. Those were Guineafowl. They are known for being noisy and eating ticks, and are often kept on farms and large properties. Some say they are a living alarm system, and will work together to scare off danger. They are also known for being protective, independent, and cautious. Guineafowl are sexually monomorphic and appear to be monogamous. They have distinctive dark feathers with contrasting blue-white spots or stripes.

if this is the same daughter, I remember another vid that LS did with a couple of years ago in TX small towns towns near your TX home base . Nice of her to accompany Dear Old Dad on his vid tour . In thinking about the sex/age/education range of the town of Celeste I can only imagine that appeal of that is here is some advantage to pink collar workers in that greater metro region of Dallas / Fort Worth area .The only town that Lord Spoda has been to that I can remember with the average population was that young was a Mormon type town in the NM/ UT area . I think that particular town had the advantage of men having multiple wives . Audie Murphy was despite his slight size a great American hero who accomplished much l in WWII . Who was almost like a one man army . He suffered in his personal life because his military experiences . i did not really like his movies , but he was a great man ! Lots of restaurants, bank, Dr., post office, arena, bowling alley, laundromat, grocery store for 1100 people. They have an excellent business association who promote events in town far and wide. They are now building a new subdivision with plans for future growth. My message is it can be turned around
