Thank you for posting. I was blessed to be able to call him a friend. He was humble, down to earth and hilarious. He was so much larger than life and it's sobering to face the fact that God holds the final card.

thank you for the guided tour. It was very educational. Just to add to Mr. Haye's history, there was the 'Polydor' era where he made several hit albums and songs including 'Stranger In Paradise', "Menage A Trois", "Fever", "Just The Way You Are". On one of his album covers he had the picture of the Phoenix which made lots of sense as this was a good time for him. This would be about mid 70s thru early 80s.

Saw him live with my wife back in the 70's with Dion Warwick. When he wasn't singing a duet with Ms. Warwick, he was conducting the orchestra for her. One of those shows you never forget.

I also found through the Elvis Radio channel on SIRIUSXM radio is that Donald “Duck” Dunn also played with Elvis’ band in the late 69’s and into the 70’s too, Elvis even referred to him as a pipe smoking bassist with his band.

The reason Isaac Hayes went broke was because he mismanaged his money and trusted his buddies to help manage things for him. They robbed him blind. The same is true of Elvis, although Elvis was his own worst enemy. When Elvis died, he was nearly broke. Isaac Hayes had a major comeback when he joined the cast of "South Park". A whole new generation of fans knew him. With "South Park", there isn't anything that wasn't made fun of. Religion has been one of their major subject, making fun of Jews, Christians and other religions. They started making fun of the cult religion Scientology and because Isaac Hayes was a Scientologist, this offended him and left the show. Anyother religion could be made fun of, but when Scientology came up, that was the straw which broke the camel's back. So, Isaac chose to step out of the spotlight and wandered off into obscurity. Donald "Duck" Dunn was a well-known session musician but his biggest claim to fame was as a member of "Booker T. & The M.G.s". He also played on many other Stax recordings as the M.G.s were the house band at Stax.
