My grandma used to play this on a record player while playing cards in the kitchen with her brother and sister in law. I remember it so well it’s like stepping into a Time Machine and seeing them at the table playing and conversing with one another they’re gone now but I can always remember that it lives in my heart forever 😊

That’s the best venue in my opinion. Different genre, but my friend/coworker in Dallas long ago skipped our night shift one night, came back and had spent the evening in a club seeing Metallica! The band having beers, etc. 😂 Now front row tickets are thousands sometimes.

i remember this song my dad used to play this way back in the day when i was a kid. he would get hammered and sing to my mom who would be so pissed at him for being drunk . it was kinda funny i remember telling my 1/2 brother that dad was crazy he was 5 years older then me and used to go back and forth between my house and his real moms house. i come to realize that my dad great taste in music. RIP dad & mom.

Just this week I found Jon Schneider's song "At the sound of the Tone", which I thought was titled "Codeaphone" for some reason, and it brought back a time in my life that was forgotten so completely it never even was missed when thinking over my past life. Sounds good, but the instruments need to get quieter when he sings. This is a problem I find with so many musicians, they don't know when, are don't want to, get quieter softer when someone is singing, it's like they want to compete with the singer or some other instrument lead part. Quetin down and wait your turn. One band that was good at getting softer when the singer was singing is Merle Haggards band would bring down the noise down and let Merle get his message. Roy Orbison's band was good. Willie Nelson's band didn't override him.

The lyrics sites..which sometimes are using one source it seems..all say he drank "this much red" which makes no sense. How much red? He does say wine drunk, tho The reference to the apartment, and in other country songs they refer to drinking the "rent." It almost sounds like "month's rent" here... I want it to be ...seems more appropriate and flows better...somebody ask John
