So too this song is classic country and tells the story of a place we have all been. Wether you live in Texas, or if you live in New Jersey, this song speaks to all.

John Conley has one of the most pitch perfect voices in all of Country music. He is never sharp or flat and he has great breath control. His Southern accent comes through his throat and chest and not through his nose. It is very pleasing to listen to and he could make just about any female fall in love with whomever they were with and the guy was clever enough to play his songs for her.

I am an old lady now, and my family on both sides has deserted me. Including my son and his icky girlfriend. My husband couldn't help it; he had Pancreatic Cancer. He fought like Hell, for 2 years because it would kill me when he died. I'll die alone, and that want I want now. No one needs to come around then. They were not here when I needed them, so they do not need to bother me later. I got a dog, she doesn't steal, hit me, and treat me like crap!!!

In 1990 I was a Captain in the Air Force. Six years of marriage was about to end and my wife had some serious medical issues. I heard this song as I was getting off the highway outside of the base one morning and it brought me to tears. I had to pull over and compose myself before going through the gate into the base. This song helped pull me through that time and 33 years of marriage. Until just recently, it would always bring a tear to my eyes whenever I heard it. I wanted to take my wife to one of his concerts for our 30th anniversary and rekindle what was once a great romance but it didn't work out. Two years later she filed for divorce. I have this song on a sound track I listen to frequently. No more tears but now I just love to hear John Conlee sing it.

How many of today's artist can sit with nothing but a voice and microphone and sound as good as John and the other real country music makers. As George Jones said In his song. Whose gonna fill their shoes? Vince Gill answered that question perfectly at George Jones funeral and he said I believe they don't make those shoes anymore and that's very true.

John was played on radio constantly when I was a kid. Another Great in Concert was Ray Price. He stay at every concert till the last person got their autograph. He never took a dime of the songwriters money. Last album he made was Beauty IS and dedicated to his wife. He was dying of pancreatic cancer, cut the album in nov and past away in December. They did zero enhancements to his voice.
