Paul frehley , aka ACE , loved to fish in Alabama on lake Martin not far from my home , and he is very intelligent an designed the double lightning bolt s in the kiSS LOGO and played the world's first smoking burning Les Paul guitar on stage during the song shock me ! He was the coolest and most iconic. I saw Kiss live in 1979/80. Dynasty tour. His guitar playing was so much better back then. My friend at work saw the Destroyer tour in 1976. Wish I saw that one as well.

In his book NO REGRETS he mentions that both Paul and Gene underestimated his intelligence. Therefore, they took an IQ-test. Ace scored the highest (164). I wouldn’t imagine that all of those tests are reliable. But I do think he is a lot smarter than people think he is. Yes, he is a bit odd, and often lazy but you can tell when he really puts his heart into it.

Ace never received royalties for anything the band did after he left. Peter got a 25 percent share of all band revenue until 1986. They agreed to this to get him to quit. Ace's departure nearly cost them their recording contract. He only got royalties for his work.
