I am a 61 year old professional musician, keyboardist and vocalist. I was amazed at the Backstreet Boy's vocal abilities back in the 90's and I still am amazed today. It's not just about finding singers with good voices, but that blend together to produce that once in a lifetime amazing sound. They are also excellent performers which is hard enough to find in one person, much way five. A lot of music of the past several decades will fade into oblivion, but the BSB recordings are here to stay.

I heard this song on adult contemporary radio in 2000 and kept searching for the artist. This song cemented how BSB catered to both adults and teenagers. You can see that in the audience.

As a boy, growing up in the late 90s and early 00s, I always tried to imitate BSB & *NSYNC, just so I could impress the girls in my class -who liked them a lot. But it's funny, though it took me a long time to admit, I started liking these boybands myself, as I was trying to learn their dancemoves (and that was the case with many of my classmates as well.) Their songs were catchy, sure, but I also liked them because these boys actually showed some real fucking talent -and that wasn't always the case with many other artists. And that is why all the boybands are still here to this day, as big as ever: They had talent, and though they reached many girls' hearts, they won over a lot of boys/men, who could see that boybands like BSB, *NSYNC & Take That was more than just pretty faces. I mean, look at all the girlbands. They didn't make it in the end because, although they had their hits, they didn't have the same vocal-talent as many of the boybands had. The girlbands were more about statements and "sisterhood" and therefore, they didn't last in the end (with Destiny's Child being an exception) I listen to heavy metal. Iron Maiden, Thin Lizzy, Scorpions, Volbeat etc, but I've never been ashamed of liking these boybands as well :)

So I just saw the greatness that is the Backstreet Boys Friday in Oklahoma City (6-6-14)....yeah so nothing has changed after 21 years of being together, nothing. These old videos of them performing...yeah nothing has changed. Backstreet straight killed it on the choreography doing the same choreography from 15-20 years ago ("We Got It Goin' On" "As Long As You Love Me" except without the chairs) so it's safe to say I will be a life long fan, 19 years and going strong! I just wish I would've seen this tour! Darn my father! He refused to take me! Urgh! But seeing Backstreet and Brian smiling and waving at me as he left made up for it. Thank God there's KZbin! I miss this crazy mania, it was fun and I loved every single second of it.
