-You're trying to make your topside soul a modified backside and it doesn't work that way. You got to move the feet together. The feet prefer to move together. You get better control that way. -You corrected the carve, the issue is that you're trying to do a backside modified rather than a top side. -Love your channel so much... such an inspiration!

Yes, the new medium Oysis are great! Very nice balance between flat feeling and big groove and speed and height for royales. Having a good time with them as well! I still think you could try to stall top souls first to feel how it feels when locked. Fingers crossed for your Monday session! Oysi you luck - you'll get it!

Your front foot is on the coping before your back foot is; so when your back foot reaching for the coping it just throws you over the obstacle. Slap that back foot down and stand up and you’ll have it 💪🏼

You can do it, Law! Don’t forget about feet staggering. Looks like you lead with left, which makes right foot souls easier, but makes left foot topsides harder. This is exaggerated when spinning, and riding transitions, which is why illusions are harder, and carving the opposite way with the same stagger is harder as well.

Hello! Thanks to your videos I got back skating after 10 years of stop. To thank you for that I would like to give you some little suggestions for your topside soul. I’m not a great skater (your ledge technique is way better than mine), but one thing a can do decently and it’s topsides souls on mini ramps. I would say to you to practice stalls, at least 5 min and you’re good. Try to roll straight, pass over the coping some inches ,no jumping, roll over it, and stall (like a disaster). Land with both feet’s at the same time and narrow the distance between them (it will be more precise). Feel your feet attacking the coping together. Then when you do the trick it’s the same: carv the nearest possible to the coping so you jump the less possible (or roll over it like in the stall, if you can). At that point your body should be above the coping, land both feet together and slide. To sum up: with the roll over the coping you eliminate the momentum that throws you to the top of the mini ramp, having the feet close to each other give you a precise lock landing both feet together a good weight distribution. I’m 38 years old and have the Adapt Stealth, my previous skates were the Deshi CH1. I’m learning again all the grinds bending the knees and not the ankles, it’s been a challenge but I’m very happy with the results. Thank you for providing your videos. I hope that what I said make sense and at least one thing will help you to land the top soul!

I noticed you did a regular soul on the coping with your right foot as your soul foot. This is just me but my right is my dominant foot for soul tricks as well & I also find it easiest for my right foot as my topside dominant as well. The only difference is you’re coming from the opposite direction, carve up a mellow angle & lock in your topside foot like fish brain, if you need to just use your left & roll on top of the deck until you feel comfortable locking the topside foot & work your way to lifting the left rolling boot off the deck & putting it in soul position while sliding, one you feel good as soon as you lock your topside boot try to drop the h block on the coping around the same time. Topsides on coping are a mindgame because your skates need to be on top but your body & momentum need to stay parallel to the coping & away from the deck. This it what helped me so maybe it could help you. Keep up the progress & happy rolling!

Maybe try to learn switch backside, then natural topside soul so you aren't having to do the topside switch. I wish Oysi did the two medium wheel base lengths using a rotatable spacer instead of having the hole in two different locations, so you could try both wheel bases without buying a different frame.

I wonder if you tried making your topside foot hit first. Or maybe trying to do a top star instead of a top soul because you'll be able to see your foot better. But still a good effort we are all going to celebrate when you get it!

Your doing topsoul same side as me. After stopped for 12 years i also needed to get used to it again. But i picked it up pretty fast. I think seeing from your video, you need to curve more to the left inside the ramp. Basicly you need to be able to ride along the coping. And lean inside the ramp. And then put your feets topsoul. And i dont mean ride along, with one feet on top other feet inside the ramp. Ride along the coping inside the ramp. I know its scary in the beginning.. When you dont curve enough and dont lean your always gonna come up above the ramp.

Two things, 1. I'm working in Bridgewater Virginia for a few months. I'm coming down there to skate while I'm here. 2. I can't believe I didn't think of this before. You sole grind on your right foot every time on the mini. When I learned topside I started learning on my natural sole foot. Is it possible you are trying an unnatural top sole?!

Yo ! Really looking into the Oysi frames and wondering what size boot you wear for the medium Oysi frame ? I’m looking to get USD shadows with the Oysi frames and I’m size 11 so I don’t really know which ones to grab. Right now I have USD realms with flat non h block ground controls on big wheels and going fast in the bowls is no problem, airing right into grabs ! But back in the day I had the Xsjado blades with GC frames with anti rocker and loved them because they were so light compared to hard boot blades like old school Roces. so I’m trying to find this balance of speed and versatility of all the tricks :especially cess slides and all grinds. Anyways love the videos! I’ve been watching your usd shadow and oysi videos to try and get and idea of what I should do let me know if you got any tips for a good new setup I need to get back to the blading!

Thanks for your videos! Looks like many bladers from the 90s like me are coming back on wheels! hehe your videos made me think about it as well and I've seen a pair of USD VII on ebay that I'm thinking to buy. On your first video with the USD VII you said that might be better to get a smaller boot size that your normal shoe size and the liner of your shoe size, as you said that you found a bit "roomy" the boot. Do you still recommend that? Because those skates are not easy to find in the UK so I can not try them on before buy, and they look like a great skates to come back to blade. Would you still suggest a smaller boot size and bigger inside liner? As now you have tried them for longer time. Thanks again and carry on with the videos! I think you have inspired many bladers to come back!
