Hi, how do I back up my iPhone to my external hard drive directly? Because when I try to follow these steps, my Macbook doesn't have enough free space to begin with, so it doesn't let me back up to the internal storage.

Would I be able to delete my iMessages data entirely then regenerate them if need be with this backup method? The issue I have is iMessages taking up too much of data on my onboard storage ≈ 50 GB on my iPhone 11. I did the backup on Finder but I'm afraid to delete the iMessages data directly on my iPhone without being able to regenerate them with the backup on Finder. Let me know it this will be a proper soulution for my needs. Thank in advance!

unfortunately the back up folder wont transfer onto the external drive. Do you know how to fix?

Can you do this without using I iTunes for windows it doesn’t work iTunes for windows is awful
