Hi there, thank you for the video very helpful. What is the optimal backup route for a Dropbox? I assume Cloud Sync on its own is not sufficient in the event of malicious events to the Dropbox data. Is Cloud Sync + Snapshot Replication needed? I have a DS418j - I don't think Snapshot replication is compatible with that model. Is there alternative route, or do I need to upgrade my NAS and if so can you recommend the ideal model (I am on a budget!). Thanks in advance!

I hope to know how to protect data when a NAS (not the HDs installed on it) has malfunction.

So I offer offsite backup services to my clients and I use synology equipment to do it. It works well and honestly I'd pay a license fee if it had one additional feature. I want to be able to transfer active backup for business backups between synology devices. Right now I have 13 different clients all backing up via active backup for business to my primary NAS, if I get a new client that has say a TB of data and a slow internet connection I have to carry that NAS to their location for the initial backup and then all my other clients miss their backups for that day. I can't really make the the forwarding rules on their router and use their data to backup everyone else now can I? I'd much prefer using one of your smaller 2 bay NAS to go get the initial backup and then transferring it to my primary NAS. You could really chip away at the cloud backup services if you gave repair shops this power back.

Get a 2bay, back up their devices at their site with it. Go home and transfer the backups on your main nas. Usb or drive solution.

Or rent them smaller units for a monthly fee and use hyperbackup or drive to get it back to your site

@@CaptainCohiba doesn't work. You can't transfer individual active backup for business profiles.

@@CaptainCohiba doesn't solve the problem of having to carry the large NAS to their site for the initial backup.

Hyper Backup is VERY SLOW (max 20Mb/s) it is totally unusable.

It depends on the devices. I have rackstation and flashstation and we write at 1000Mb/s since the devices are all on 10gbe
