Backwards Compatible Esk8 Remotes? (Ling-Yi & Hobbywing)

Been meaning to make a short video on this for a while. Surprisingly, most riders with older electric skateboards aren't aware they can upgrade to more recent remote designs for improved board data; this is very useful when finding out your overall system mileage! (Handy for secondhand sales, you know?)

*I'm just curious if the 10S hobbywing remotes work without issues on the newer 12S hobbywing boards* I like a simple remote with LEDs, no screen. I prefer the older Hobbywing remote essentially. Also, my 5 year old board, when I pair an OLED remote it works but does Not show how many miles I've done, works with my 4 year old board though so depends how old the board is, won't show mileage for all hobbywing boards.

Good points. To be honest there's so many variants of Hobbywing ESC's that it's hard to be clear with this stuff. The remote itself doesn't change any of your stock ESC or battery specs as far as I'm aware.

@@esk8jaimes the throttle curve of a 10S remote may not corrolate with that of a 12S board but I'm curious to try it out once I get a new board, risky though 😂
