Backwater valves are a commonly missed requirement when doing plumbing work in a basement. This is just one of those items that gets forgotten. I even see licensed plumbers space out the backwater valve requirement and have to go back in and rework the drainage. It can be quite a process to add a backwater valve and install it properly. Here I jump into a scenario where a backwater valve is not required in a basement also with locations on where a backwater valve should be placed if it were required.
