Hey Man!!! Thanks so much for your videos, i did my USD finally; but i ran into a problem I couldn’t bring it more than 215 F. I had all the air intakes open as well the vents in the top cover. I had it for 3 hrs, any recommendations ?? Do i have to do one of the intakes bigger?? Also the charcoal basket I did, it is rectangular (as I add an old rectangular bbq grater) instead of circular, would that affect?Thanks and thanks for your videos!

You have to open up the exhaust also, I found that you can have your exhaust wide open but the intake valves is where u control your heat. 3 3/4 valves work best for me

I cant see why you couldnt use a 2" piece of flat mild steel?
@viddy2282 жыл бұрын
@@pedroarellano4266 Just use self tapping sheet metal screws... Cut off the excess of the screws on the inside, grind down the rough edges a little.. Worked great for my smoker. .I ran some RTV BBQ gasket around the outside rim of the ring for an air tight fit.. I also use a hinge for my weber lid that allows me to remove it if I need too or just lock it in the open position..

RIDING WITH mike , I made a similar UDS. Coal basket with half a bag of kingsford will hold 220-250 degrees for about 12-14 hours depending on the ambient temp.

No waterpan in a UDS??
@dantheman69316 жыл бұрын
You can add one but it’s not needed. I use a pizza pan as a heat deflector
