You are absolutely right, our grandpas received thousands of great trucks from US. Unfortunately current time not all our russian people like to remember it. And most famous was of sure Studebaker US 6. Mainly because this truck was used as a carrier of famous russian mortar Katjusha. And after WW2 this truck played many roles in soviet and russian movies about that war.

So much history, loved it. The detailed tour of the '41 boom truck was amazing. All the driving gave me fond memories of the time I spent driving deuce and a halfs in the mid 70's.

Excellent tour and ride along. My vote is the get the Detroit powered welder up and going next. Not too difficult, just remove valve cover and roll the motor over a revolution or two and look for stuck injectors. If none are stuck, just fire it up. If stuck, go watch Old2stroker channel and learn how to free em up.

You got some badass old iron there. Makin me antsy to get my 52 m37 running. Hopefully thats this winters project. If you go to fire up that old 2 stroke make sure you pull the rocker cover off and check to make sure the fuel rack is free. I like to pull the air cleaner off and keep a piece of plywood handy in case it tries to send her to the moon

So i watched this vid without sound and my main takeaway is if i ever buy an 80 year old utility vehicle I better do a full survey of the 80 years of butchery enacted upon it before i decide to take it on. They say they don't build em like they used to but this video has finally made me realize that having an entire vehicle made out of material you can booger things onto with a stick welder is a real mixed bag!! Cool collection!

One look at those trucks and you'd swear they were all derelict, but one flick of the starter and the fire right up, That old boom truck is a gem, the reinforcement carried our is mad! Must be some weight in it like Was wondering too if you'd been on any more exploring? Your vid on the abandoned gold mine was brilliant

My father worked at a miltary hospital in England during part of WWII. He told me lots of trucks were cut in two and dumped in the English Channel. They didn't want the expense of transporting them back to the US. Such a shame how good is equipment is wasted like that.

We use to use a similar homemade winches on pulp wood trucks back in the day. The brake on ours was what actually turned the spool to pull the cable in. Push the lever the brake would grab the hub and wind in the cable to pull the stick of wood.
