One aspect you didn't really highlight is CP's mentorship regarding Castle, the rookie wants to be a pg and they just got a top 5 pg of all-time with a basketball IQ on par with lbj, the amount of experience and knowledge castle is gonna get out of cp is crazy. The future looks even brighter for the spurs with this draft and early free agency acquisitions. lovd ur vid keep up the great analysis and good work !!

This is an excellent take, man. You really paint the picture. I'm as locked into San Antonio basketball going back 3 decades (been a sports journalist most of my adult life), and this take is just right on the money. It's not over the top, but it doesn't sell the key parts short. Wemby + Castle is going to be the truth, and adding Chris Paul to run the show for a year or maybe two is brilliant Pop/RC magic - the Spurs need a dude with his head calm and on a swivel to show them how to take care of the ball and find that groove. Super excited for this, and hoping like hell they can move some picks and a player or two to pick up Markkanen. They'll definitely push for the playoffs with Lauri, and they'll have an outside shot to make a play-in game with the roster as it is now.

Prediction for '24-'25 Season: 45+ wins…and a play-in spot. If all goes well ceiling could be 6th seed. The 2024-‘25 roster: Starters: VW, Sochan, Barnes, Vassel and CP3. Off the bench:Castle (gets 25mpg or more), Jones, Johnson, Collins, Mamu, Cissoko, Branham, Wesley, Champagnie; Bouyea. That leaves 3 slots for total of 18 players. Trade assets: Johnson; Collins; Champagnie; Branham; Wesley; Bouyea

45+ wins; 4-5 seed; Mark my words, the Spurs will compete next year...VW will be so great the Spurs will be too good to be bad enough to be a lottery team. VW will win the Most Improved Player aware in his Year 2. No one has ever done that. Those who cannot see that he will be even greater in Year 2, esp w/CP3, have no vision. Maybe Spurs will be bringing onboard an all-star veteran player (TBD) to help get VW his ring in Year 2, which is when TDuncan got his first ring. Grab your popcorn b/c the "D" juggernaut (VW-Sochan-Castle) that will be the Spurs next season will have some fireworks with VW at Point Center and CP3 as PG.

No this was stupid... they didn't get 2 extra 6tt graders... they got 1. The 2030 part was just a pick swap and could be meaningless if Wolves are still good (likely) by then. The 2031 pick could be #30 for all we know. In the end, this trade could be all star point guard selected #8 for pick #30... That's the worst case scenario. The likely scenario is they stay pat or move up maybe 2 to 3 spots in 2030 but stay in the 20's and the gain a 20-30 1st rounder in 2031.
