Kings fan here. HB is a great guy, awesome locker room dude. He will probably have a few games where he explodes. Otherwise he will underperform. He can't keep up on defense as well anymore and when his shot isn't falling he becomes a non-factor sadly. He's also a weak rebounder for his size. I hope I'm wrong and he can thrive more and have another up year in SA, but he quickly became a weak link in our rotation in the back half of last season.

His role on the spurs won't be to defend. Spurs have versatility with Sochan and Wemby. Barnes role will be to shoot the ball efficiently. If spurs need points Barnes will come into the game. If spurs need a stop Sochan will check in. Plus Wemby will make up for a lot of everyone's defensive deficiencies

Not sure about that. I think a play-in team is already an overachievement for this team this season. They’re in the stacked west, too, so it’s gonna be tough. Lots of teams last are still strong enough to contend and there will be returning teams that are gonna look to contend again.

Paul and Barnes are there mainly for mentorship of the youngsters especially Castle whom the Spurs have been scouting since HS. I believe the Spurs really will utilize him as a PG in the future and who better to teach him the position than the Point God himself. The Spurs young core now has positional size/length advantage, versatility and a scary defensive upside. Something the Celtics have right now.

People act like wemby did nothing because of their irrelevant record but in reality in played less than half the game the first half of the season. If they are a playoff team next year theyll probably play him 36+ mpg

The only thing I really didn't vibe with this off-season was the Dillingham trade. It's not 2 firsts... its a first and swap rights. If their best player was older I would be more into it but he is not even 23 yet and unless he leaves Minnesota or becomes hobbled those should not be high picks. People act like the Spurs never make bad moves but they have selective memory because they won 50 games for a million years in a row. Just hope the Dillingham thing doesn't end up being worse in retrospect than the Luis Scola nonsense.

Dillingham is good but not in defense. Castle will be better for the team... and they get Nunez who will play this year in Barcelona and will learn a lot before becoming a back-up PG in the future. Maybe he will be the main PG later (and Castle will have another mission).

Spurs messed up. They should have drafted Buzelis, with their 2nd lottery pick. Branham and Wesley suck. Traded away the pick for a player 7 yrs from now who could only return a possible 30th pick?? Buzelis is tearing up teams in summer league. The Spurs need wings who can shoot, as that whole team, has NO SHOOTERS. Going against teams in the West who are stacked with shooters, this is not going to turn out well. Go to the playoffs and lose in the 1st or 2nd round is the only hope they have. Castle can't shoot, Sochan can't shoot, Jones can't shoot, Collins can't shoot. Nobody with the exception of Vassell, can shoot the ball. CP3 is already almost 40 yrs old. He's not for long in the NBA and is only there to mentor and hopefully transition to a coaching career after retiring soon, like POP. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid, moves everywhere.
