The concern over premiums kind of seems irrelevant. Everyone has to make money off of their product above the cost of it. Granted that some premiums are higher than they really need to be but it's still amazes me that you can buy brand new coins for 1 to $3 over the cost of the metal. With no local coin shops I just shop the deals of a couple of my favorite online bullion dealers. There has never been any concern over the quality of product that you get. Thank you as always sir, great content 🫎🫎

I recently got what I thought was a decent silver buy from one of the dealers you mentioned. I got six 2 ounce Australian lunar rabbits @ £58.00 each inc. VAT and delivery. Everyone else was charging way more, some as much as an extra £40.00 per coin!

2oz are worth £47.72, so you will never make an inflation adjusted profit, but, like the rest of us, you will enjoy owning them.
@Silvermachine7Ай бұрын
@@spangler9792 It was Atkinsons. At the time the closest anyone else was selling them for was £69. Others were selling them for as much as £90, which was ridiculous. They have all sold out now. I wish I had bought more as I could have got a slightly better deal on 10. I bought 2 and then another 4, so I could have done better.

@@meteoman7958 I am going with 90% gold 10% silver. I only started stacking at the start of this year (I wish I'd started years ago!). I have been in ETF's and miners etc. for some time but I wanted to start owning some physical, for a number of reasons. I think of silver more along the lines of junior mining stocks, they could fly to the moon or they may not, it's a bit of a lottery.

Tips.for newbie's 1) decide if you are a collector ( get sruff you like regardless if it gives best returns or a stacker (buy liquid stuff that will.maximiae return) or a combo of both 2nd check laws rules taxes in tour region regarding different metals , purity, coins, bars etc. as this will.determine what you buy if you are a stacker 3) check the price of both metals for gains/loses for every 1,2,3,5,10,15,20,25 year period since 1970 ( end of gold standard) as this will tell you what to buy if you are a stacker .

Coin Collecting has always attracted scammers, they are a continuation of counterfeiting for circulation which is only profitable for banknotes these days. But Hughley profitable for collectors items.
@mysteryman582618 күн бұрын
what I don't undestand and think is a bit of a rip off is when a bullion dealer will pay the same amount for a certain coins regardless, of the year and yet they sell earlier dated coins for quite a bit more money than more recent dated coins. What do you think about this
@fragdadАй бұрын
Love your work, man.
@meteoman7958Ай бұрын
Since silver has only just kept up with inflation at the best of times, one can never catch up with high premium made for collector coins. As long as dealers pay spot or less, and costs are CPI adjusted, collectors will always be in the red. Gold, on the other hand, has handily beaten inflation and with the usual low premiums on bullion gold or aftermarket premium gold, one can actually consider gold as a good investment. EDIT: Of course, if one has just started buying today, it may take a while for the above to be true.

I try to buy a 1/10 or at minimum, a gram of gold every month. I know theres higher premiums on fractional gold but that doesnt bother me. Its not like buying a new car where it loses value as soon as you take possession. You can always sell it and get your money back out of it. The premium stays with it.
@Silvermachine7Ай бұрын
I actually bought my first 1/20oz gold coin the other day. (Australian) The premium was virtually the same as a 1/10oz Britannia. I agree, almost anything you buy loses a ton of money as soon as you take it out of the show room. I drive a 22 year old car which does me fine. I am past caring about driving the latest. My only other indulgence is electric guitars. If you buy right with those, you don't lose money, in fact some are as good as gold!

@@allthingssilver7635 Not everyone can afford 1oz Britannia's and Sovereign's but fractionals are a way of getting in. The premiums are still far less than silver and no VAT. Mind you, I did need a magnifying glass to see the 1/20oz coin!

Personally I would leave Silver alone! For gold I would now only buy full & half sovereigns and 1/4 or 1/2oz Britannias. Anything smaller or larger just don’t make sense. Either silly premiums for a tiny amount or so expensive it doesn’t sell

What I find funny when people buy gold and silver they worry about the premium so much but they forget anything they buy in the world cars small electronics whatever they pay a premium it's just not called a premium it's called tax they forget the people that own the store have to make a profit up the price little bit 10 to 15 percent to make their profit to stay in business it's a different name so they worry about it
