My partner has made this for us, and his family …… and my family …..: (several times since he watched it a month ago lol) and its absolutely delicious and everyone else he’s made it for agrees, it is now a firm favourite in our house….. thank you 😊😊

My gran used to put lamb kidney in hers too, think most people leave it out nowadays though. This is one of my go to comfort foods esp on a cold winter evening, it brings back lots of fond family memories.

As a Asian I cook my Lancashire Hotpot with same ingredients plus flaked chilli makes nice spicy hotpot. Sometimes without chillies but with grated cheese on top. Hope you will like the changes.

Beautiful Dish - living in Lancashire (or at least the historic county of Lancashire after the county reforms) I grew up with this dish. A home cooked version like this is my favourite but since the other half doesn't like Lamb or stewed meat - I now get my Hot Pots from the local bakeries but rather than potato, they have pastry lids. Either way, still a very nice treat. I love your channel helping to keep these old traditional dishes alive - I am in my 30s and sometimes I feel like my diet is like an old mans because colleagues at work, friends similar aged are not eating this type of stuff anymore. We will end up like America where we are known for other countries food more than our own dishes if we are not careful.

Nice knife skills, Rik. Thank god you didn't use a bloody mandolin. Jeremy Clarkson reinforced my phobia to the power of 10 . 😰

Who taught you how to cook? You NEVER add salt when you are browning and searing meat. Lol
@BackyardChef2 жыл бұрын
Up to you. You never leave salt on meat unless you want to dry it. Big difference. Best, Rik
