Loving the bushcraft style builds, i too love MTB and bushcraft woodworking! For those who dont understand how strong a dowel jammed into wood is, shame. But if you DID need some more strength, you can always saw a slit in the top of the dowel and then pound in a wedge, just like axe handles!

When the wood dries (seasons), or during winter, during freeze and thaw, is when the deck boards will pop off. In really cold winters, for a few days, I always have deck boards pop loose from the boards loosening their grip around the nails due to the expanding and contracting. So expect that.

I'm guessing that the dowel joints are only going to get stronger with time since the boards and the trees you used were all green wood: as they dry, they're going to shrink and squeeze those dowels even more! Amazing job!

Even with power tools this would take a lot of time (speaking from a lot of experience) so this is extremely cool and especially environmentally friendly becuase you leave nothing but things that already came from the forest.
