Bacopa caroliniana

Bacopa caroliniana is an easy and relatively slow growing stem plant available from Tropica in regular pots, mini pots and 1-2-Grow cups. It does need brighter light to get the best health but CO2 is not essential. Adding Tropica Premium or Specialised Nutrition will improve growth. Under intense light and with low nitrogen levels the leaves can turn a bronze hue. When phosphorous is low it can turn a more pinkish colour. In high light new growth is often an orange colour.

@@TropicaAquariumPlants A little Bit. In the past i got some Gold-Brown Colors on the Top.(that comes and Go, comes and Go, comes and Go.) I don't Work with a Lot of Light, so it wasn't Intense form the Color. But Pretty. And in the Start Time i got a Red Touch, but not long. It will be a Suprise in the New Scape. The simple Green is all what i want. I Love it.

Reminds me of the good old days. As a Re-Beginner in more than 15 years, it was one of my first choices beside some Rotala and Vallisneria. Funny though you categorize it as a "relatively slow growing" species. In my recollection it starts to grow like being pulled a snake-charmer as soon as it hits the water. I use it in my new tank with a cheap LED and no co2 and man, it's like I can see it growing by the hour.

The bacopa should be one of the easiest plants to grow so you shouldn't have issues with your setup.

Yes you can, and it will produce small purple flowers. If you have any stems growing above the water in your aquarium, pinch them off and plant them. They have the correct leaf type and should grow roots and adapt fast.

I thought Bacopa Caroliniana had more rounder leaves. And the top leaves took on an interensting bronze color under the right conditions.

Hi. It is true that under strong light the leaves tend towards a bronzish color and so did our plants. It is hard to catch the color on camera as for many other aquatic beauties.

When all you youtubers say that bacopa is easy to maintain it makes me feel like a fool since I am not doing too good. I just bought it 3 days ago for my fish tank and for some reason the leafs are turning yellow looking like it's dying. I been giving it root tabs and drowning it with flourish liquid and it's still not doing nothing for me what should I doany advices.

Hi, it happens to the best of us to lose a plant here and there. Don't beat yourself up! The quick troubleshoot you could go through consists of: 1. ensure your tank is well lit; although hardy, the bacopa requires good light to thrive 2. no need to overfertilize, try using one of your fertilization guides or check out the youtube video about it. tropica.com/en/plant-care/liquid-fertilisers/premium-nutrition/ - we're not familiar with the product you're using so can't really advise you on that one. 3. give it time, some plants take time to adapt to living underwater after being grown emersed. 4. the water parameters are of course important, would be a good idea to check them out before fertilizing too much. @@TropicaAquariumPlants im just using a cap full of seachem flourish, another cap full of API leaf zone and one tablet of the root tabs for each plant im not sure if those are even fertilizer. I am new to this.

CO2 is NOT necessary, strong light is good.

Hi Esrak, all plants could technically use a good dose of CO2 but not all of them need dosing to survive.
