I have 4 angels in a 125. Rainbows, clown loaches, cories. No problems. The angels hold their own during feeding. The angels have paired off and split the tank. One pair has spawned twice, no issues there either. They ended up eating their own eggs. Love watching you guys!

Yes, yes, way back in the day when my fish info was limited, the kids wanted this gorgeous angel fish for the community tank full of guppies, endlers, teapot platys, and danios. And when Carlos ( what the kids named Mr angel fish) was quarter size, all was well. Then Carlos grew and grew and the other fish became less less until one day, there was nothing left in the tank but a big, fat, Carlos who was the size of my hand, 😂 Lessons learned throughout the years. 👍❤👍

cichlids are a tough cookie to crack in mixed species aquariums :D great video as always, if i ever do an angel tank ill likely stick with bn's and maybe cory cats. keep them stress levels nice and chill. I know alot of people do the discus mix which makes sense too. Maybe since ive kept a fair amount of cichlids im just prone to the love of "mostly species only" setups. They give the fish a better natural personality, there are definitely exceptions that work though.

I have 4 angels in a 40g. One angel is small but now growing up and not sure what sex it is cause it gets the same attention from both the male and females. The more mature angels have layed eggs with the same male, at alternating times. The male grooms the females and the female returns the groom but the 2 females don't groom each other. They seem to learn to get along with each other when not laying eggs. Watching them interacting with each other.

If I knew then what I know now…I would never have purchased my five cute little baby angels. Had I understood that “pairing off” behavior, I would only have purchased two and hoped they were of the same sex. I’ve now invested in multiple larger tanks to separate the mated pairs who attack everyone in sight. Also, something I experienced in housing one of my un-mated angels was crazy aggression by my juvenile chain loaches toward the poor angel even though those same chain loaches completely ignored the two electric blue Acara in the same tank. Is there such a thing as a single fish that EVERYBODY hates no matter where you put them? That seems to be the case with my angel I’ve named “A Fish Called Wanda”.

I'm not saying it's a smart thing to do but, I have an Angelfish in with two Oscars, a Jaguar Cichlid, a Texas and Jack Dempsey, a Venezuelan Pike, a Salvini and a Convict. They've been together for two years give or take a couple months. It may not work much longer, but so far, they all get along for the most part. There is some fin damage on occasion, but I haven't seen any kind of aggression like I have seen in the African Cichlid world. That said, I'll likely break my group up eventually, but for now *knock on wood* everything is working.

Only time I have trouble with my two angel fish is when they are spawning, other than that they get along well with the other fish in the tank.. a golden gourami, some danios and Corydoras.. The danios they chased to the bottom of the tank after one of their spawns and are just starting to go back up towards the top to swim again, the gourami they don't mind because he's never backed down to them and doesn't let them bully him. The gourami usually pushes them away with his barbels like curb feelers on a old classic..
@c.a.t46073 жыл бұрын
Also when my Corydoras are laying eggs on the glass, the angels will be hovering around to pick them off as soon as they are laid.. This has lead to a couple funny incidents when instead of laying her eggs on the glass, because the angels are so close she will lay them on one of the angel fish, which causes a small dust up when the other angel eats the eggs off them..
