Back when I had a hiperfixation on how a 4D plane would look like, I got into an argument with my dad claiming that in theory, time does count as a separate dimension, claiming that you could graph a 2D animation as a 3D trayectory, (I used the example of a flip book, but I wish I had found this animation earlier to illustrate the point), and thus came to the conclusion, that WE lived in a 4D plane, but being unable to perceive the phisical image of time, we just classified it as 3D, and tbh, I still hold that theory, I'm already able to visualize how making a graphic of a 3D animation like this would work, but I am sadly unable to represent the mental image on a phisical object Anyways, very good video, yet another bad apple to the collection
@orbismworldbuilding84282 жыл бұрын
Same, this explains it really well. I had another thought, which is that interacting with a 4d object would always involve time, and possibly time shenanigans. Similarly 2d universe interacting with us would percieve us through time shenanigans. 4ds would see everything we were doing as just part of the shape of the 4d object called "universe", and probably struggle to interact with us, unless there's another axis if time that they and us can both travel along merging us into the same 5d object, but not sure thats possible. Before it goes to what i went to, it does explain why dimensions can't interact though, because they all have to be merged into one object while traveling along another axis as time

This person really made me study theories about time and space with a bad apple remake. By the way, thanks for that.

Yukari's transition is definitely my favourite part, with the way the eye opens everything up!!! But all of it is so cool, great job!!!

People dont realize that the animation literally has you go into one of her gaps through the eye symbol

Uhm- ackshully, 4 dimensional creatures in a mathematical sense refers to another spatial dimension. Although yes, we use time to visualize the dynamics of it, it does not translate to the true model of a 4 dimensional object. But in the case that you are referring to the 4 dimension as a time dimension, you would be right.

Welp... now this song will give calculus students nightmares. The integration formulas needed to make this must be absolute bonkers...

This is probably how Time works, but in 4d instead of 3d and we're moving in a constant speed forward. That's why they call time another dimension, we just can't see it.

Bro this is very underrated you need more views.

This is objectively the best visualization of the space-time continuum. A lower dimension's "movement" through a higher dimensions boundaries that provides continuity to changes within the lower dimensions. On an unrelated note, it's 4am and I need to go to bed
