That first one looked as steep as a Space Shuttle approach but you made it work so full marks.

😂 honestly I felt hilariously high. It was embarrassing ! But glad we got it down.....not a million miles after the dark tarmac (my aiming point usually)

First landing, DOH! but you got away with it, I think I would have gone around much to my embarrassment but you made it. Not as bad as my second landing though lol. Glad you kept it in though, no one is perfect and mistakes show it and is good for others to see. Nice video again.

Thanks v much. Haha yeh I know....the first was mad high....I’ll be managing be speed far better from now on. Yeh thanks - always want to be honest ....it was the most interesting thing in the video!

That looked a busy circuit. I'm glad my little flexwing just floats in and stops in 40 yards. It must be great to actually cover some serious distance on the EV97.

Hi Ben, I did most of my training in a Eurostar at Sywell and my instructor taught me to configure on base with two stages of flap 68mph and then decide whether to use the third stage while on final dependent on wind cross wind etc... This works a treat to keep the speed under control before having to focus on final at 60mph. Enjoying the videos - keep them going! Cheers Jason.
@BenAtkinsonVideos4 жыл бұрын
Hey Jason. Yeh that’s a good point. We covered all of these points in the differences training but I just got a bit caught out with the wind....definitely worth getting into the flaps a bit earlier in light winds I reckon! Cheers mate

Hi Ben/ Great vids, could you get some Cross wind circuit videos in the ev97. Would be interested to see your technique. i have this element to come having purchased a Eurostar with a colleague and recently changed from a c42. Many Thanks.

Hey thanks. Yeh I am planning to, in fact Thursday just gone I was due to film just that...but it was too windy. And every day for a few weeks the winds been down the runway! Typical. Subscribe and you’ll see a vid on it soon enough hopefully! Cheers

I was taught by an examiner on a high approach, start to wag the tail. With near full rudder deflection to both sides, swinging through the centre line. It worked!😀

That’s interesting, I can see why it would would. I needed to side slip for longer and harder here!

Dan that’s very kind thanks mate. Hope your still getting some hours in. Thanks for sticking with the channel

Ben Atkinson You’re welcome - in terms of hours, haven’t flown since the flight school went into liquidation. However, starting with a new flying school called Aeros which will accommodate me with my Modular too, so currently doing my PPL. The 8 hours of the C42 helped me a lot knowing pretty much the basics!

Visited Kemble for first time this week. Aircraft ahead burst a tyre due to poor cross wind landing and blocked the runway. Had to take the grass.

Oh nice!!! I bet the grass slowed you down quickly, given the heaviness of the ground at the mo....might catch you around there sometime!

Nice video! Out of curiosity, how are you finding the SEHT headset compared with the Bose?
@BenAtkinsonVideos4 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for watching, Peter. Initially - the weight is noticeable...then the quality of the ANR is what you really notice. Of course you get what you pay for - but in reality I only paid £150 more for the Bose on eBay...so with that taken into account....superb value. The seht are seriously good value for money and nice build quality. I’ll do a video on them both sometime again.

Thanks for posting Ben. Everyday is a school day! I thought that the EV97s with three stages of flap (60° of flap?) they went nose down like a helicopter? LOL! Get the speed down, down wind then get flaps in with wings level?
@BenAtkinsonVideos4 жыл бұрын
It was the lack of wind that took me by surprise really, yeh 3 stages of flap with a headwind they’re usually in a controlled plummet! But on the better approaches I was powering back and the end of downwind and not really using power again at all. Flaps in when wings level yeh...
@musoseven82184 жыл бұрын
Ben Atkinson Surprising on a calm day, I suppose that the aeroplane is slippery and very efficient. I've heard that the throttles can be a bit sticky on the EV97 too - plastic vernier grip instead of a metal one? You nailed it all though! How many hours have you now? You really seem to have the hang of all the machines there now, must be great fun. My friend flew the Eurostar for about 6hrs, he's switched to C42 for training now though.
@BenAtkinsonVideos4 жыл бұрын
I’m at 47 hours - (48 after the next video which I’ve already filmed). Yeh the Eurostar throttle is a little sticky. Needs to be pulled back fully on FZ if you want to descends quickly. I’d prefer that than it creeping off!!
@ForFunFlyer4 жыл бұрын
