Pinning Henry Rollins to the floor and singing in his face. That's the most punk thing I've ever heard.

Bad Brains doesn't get NEAR the amount of respect they deserve. I'm not kidding when I say they should be household names in the rock and roll community.

@@PunkBoOcH Save your semantic bs. They influenced rock and rollers all over the world. Hardcore is just hard rock and roll.

He was chosen by HR since he noticed Rollins big " throat " ! The true BB fans will catch my drift . Bad Brains will never die, just multiply !

I agree with each comment thus far. They didn’t just change my life, they saved my life with the PMA, and never feeling completely alone on this Earth ever again, knowing that there were others out there as conscious as I was, who saw the real reality of realness, and possessed the LIFELONG urge to never forget the downtrodden, the down and out, or the ones who are just down, because maybe they are actually down with “it”. Per HR, “I’ve got the Supertouch, chances are I’ve got too much”. Paul and Earl Hudson are locked in as brothers should be, with Darryl and Dr. Know bringing the whole wall of expression down on top of you, while simultaneously pulling the pile of bricks off of you, and then rebuilding it better than before, because now you are a part of that wall, and it’s stronger for you, but can be toppled by your own brainpower with a simple shitfit. Yeah I said it, a simple shitfit. We are you, and I and I are ours, and they aren’t us, and us versus they does not exist, for there is no competition for truth, only light, and do you compete for light? No, it’s free of charge, charge not outside you, the charge is free for all to embrace. The first time I saw the bad brains, I knew I was in for a living dream. And more. I saw them five times. And five times my life was better after seeing the bad brains. I’m still alive. Because there does and at the very least at one time did exist, the bad brains. Don’t miss this Soul Craft. Life is all or nothing don’t forget to sing and praise!

I'm a year late replying to this comment but you're absolutely spot on. Ther is definitely some higher spiritual flow i feel when listening to them. I think its all flow.

You sound like a Scientologist or some other kind of glossy eyed, tambourine bashing religious crank. The real reality of realness? Don't forget to sing and praise? Praise what? The Bad Brains are magnificent musicians, unique, creative and masters of their craft. Their shows were highly entertaining - because, at the end of the day, live music is entertainment and they are performers. By the way - HR didn't stand for Human Rights back in the day - it was the initials of Huntin' Rod - if you are curious to know the origins of that nickname , just ask anyone from the early DC scene .

I’m sure the clip goes on to say that Henry befriended the Bad Brains and HR telling Henry that he was destined to be a punk singer as well. Cool shit. Banned in DC, loved all over the world.

Play the song “Soul Craft”, note the skat from HR at the very beginning which is the riff, turn the volume to 11, and if it doesn’t alter your day, go see a doctor, cause you’re probably dead.

Soul Craft was my introduction to Bad Brains, circa 1984 on UNC Chapel Hill College radio…changed my life forever.

The scat is either Dr Know or Daryl. That album was recorded without Earl or HR, HR later did his vocals to the finished music.

There's nothing like a punk show. Or any kind of high-energy, intimate show. It's basically sex.
