i’ve never been a Bad Bunny fan. do i have a few of his older, more popular, songs on my playlists? yeah of course. he makes music that’s catchy for someone like me (a non-Spanish speaker who can understand very little). but taking the time out to listen to this album, as well as watch his music videos, visualisers and short film that he subsequently released, is one of the best things i could have ever done. there’s not many pieces of work that can move me to tears, but the culmination of each individual piece of this project broke me down to review each individual piece of myself. my heritage as someone with Caribbean descent, my relationships with people, preserving my culture for the next generations within my work, how my actions further affect my environment. there’s something so nostalgic about being a consumer of this media, yet i myself am not in any way affiliated with Puerto Rico. there’s many things reminiscent between Puerto Rico & Jamaica that I now further recognise the similarities in their history and current struggles when dealing with oppression from larger countries and corporations that i further want to do something against. not to mention; the title ‘Debi Tirar Más Fotos’ resonates with me so well as a photographer and filmmaker. ‘Baile Inolvidable’ (my favourite track on the album btw) has also allowed me to make the necessary changes within my relationship to not be in a similar circumstance as Bad Bunny portrays within the song and subsequent video. essentially this is my love letter to the album itself. really loved this video and happy that it made its way onto my recommendations. keep up the good work.

thanks for this video. even though i was raised here, in the ultra mega christian household im in, ive always grown up thinking reggaeton is for "cafres" and instead always listened to all genres of english music, but after my girl got into bad bunny, i thought itd be nice of me to give it a try, being such a huge music fan. i completely enjoyed the album, even read the messages of the story of puerto rico in the youtube videos and learned a few things that i didnt even know about my country. im so grateful to him, for making such a dedicated album to his homecountry and never forgetting from where he comes from, now i can tell all the people who always say hes just profiting off the island that theyre wrong. seriously, this video taught me a lot, me never having even tried to listen to bad bunny, or music from puerto rico, fuck, music in spanish in general. i really enjoyed the album, one of the best ive heard in my music journey, thank you. much love from rio grande, pr🇵🇷

Brazilians who listen to Bad Bunny often complain other Brazilians don't care about him, but honestly... I think this might be the first time he nailed an invitation to bring us home along with everybody else in LatAm. If anything, it was a banger of an introduction and now Brazil can at least be curious about what's going on in our neighbour's cultures and music scene.

@BriPea5613 күн бұрын
As a 4th generation Puerto Rican and a 3rd generation Cuban (half and half, but my identity lays more with PR) this album made me feel so many things. However, the biggest emotion it brought up for me was pride. Hearing all of the sounds from the island that I grew up hearing here in the states at family gatherings makes me so emotional. Even though I didn’t grow up ON the island, and I didn’t go every single summer, I do remember the times I spent there with my family and how beautiful the times were (and continue to be because I love our island and intend to go back and visit more, and with my future children to keep the tradition and love for the island alive). It was also a wake up call for me, as I didn’t know how bad of a condition the island was in regarding wealthy people “taking over”. I also do not speak the language fluently even though my parents speak both English and Spanish perfectly. I have made it my mission to learn since middle school (I took Spanish from 6th grade all the way up to Junior year of high school, but didn’t learn much.) This album has lit a fire in me to dive deeper into my culture that I’m ALREADY VERY PROUD OF but to have a deeper understanding of my people and my language. I am now practicing my Spanish at my job with coworkers and with my parents. It’s not the greatest pero es muy importante pa me! Thank you for this video, for shedding light on the climate of Puerto Rico and for a deep dive on this album.

I'm venezuelan and I used to listen to a lot more reggaeton back in the day but in too old for that now so I really haven't listened to bad bunny at all, just always seemed like another liberal Hollywood rapper/ celebrity, but since this album came out featuring a different sound, I have been all in on it, even the reggaeton sounds old school and as a Venezuelan you know we are salseros, I'm obsessed with the salsa sounds. Also can somewhat relate although they have meaning but the lyrics can also apply to venzuela in many ways and the dictator Maduro destroying our country. Also I think bad bunny's new look now adays just looks like he's grown up and matured a lot without all the flashy stuff he was doing 5-10 years ago. This album is an absolute home run and I haven't stopped listening to it for 2 weeks now. I hope he keeps making this style of music because for real it just hits home and takes you on a journey more than the basic club pop music we been getting for the last decade and a half.

In terms of numbers, this is likley to be second place in the list of his biggest albums, It wonts surpass un verankert sin, but it will be a big banger, statistical speaking the issues is that in un verano sin ti we saw a summer album, that was massive in Latin countries and the streaming data fast coming in constantly not falling of, it had like 40min streams for like 5 months 3 months after release, this time it’s still doing a Big Bang now but obviously it’s not a reggaeton or summer anthem so they streaming numbers in latin countries will be strong but are shown to slowly decrease, of course this time we do get a lot of streams from Europe and around the world but it’s very unlikely that these will be constant and not just fall off, once it isn’t trendy anymore or in a month or 2
