@carlosnieve12253 жыл бұрын
The movie may have done a bad job explaining it. I’m an atheist but I’ve talked to a pastor about it before. As far as I understand, they think our ideas of morality come from god. People know right from wrong and animals don’t because of god. Not the most compelling argument, but it’s a bit saner than the “I would be evil if it weren’t for the threat of hell” one.
@Chartail13 жыл бұрын
If you dont believe in God then it doesnt mean anything to a non believer. Basically we get our morals from who made us, kids learn morals from their parents, so as Christians we believe God created us, and because of sin we are disconnected from God until we turn back. Like a child who leaves home but has the choice of returning home or not. Humans change morals depending on personality and environment. If one person says morally its bad to hit a woman but another country says its morally correct, who is right? Which human is higher than the other to claim the right morals? Humans have to be taught right from wrong. But if morals are fluid and can change whenever then are humans idea of morals something that should be followed? So as Christians we believe that God has set up what is correct and what isnt since we believe He made us and is like a parent. And if you want to live in your parents home you have to follow their guidelines. Thats the basic of morals, but theres alot of other extras. Hope that made sense. 😁

As a kid, I always rather liked Psalty. Granted, I think the fact that I only listened to the audio cassette tapes and didn't see the visuals had a lot to do with that. The guy who created and performed the character wasn't a bad singer, but seeing him onscreen in that costume is nightmare fuel...

Bibleman is a shame because you COULD have some interesting material, but it comes down to delivery and presentation. My immediate thought was how Mewtwo's quote “I see now that the circumstances of one's birth is irrelevant, it is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.” is more memorable because it's spoken so earnestly and timed so well. Meanwhile the heroes of Bibleman are flatly quoting what's supposed to be their deep-down true belief and the villain just sounds bored instead of deeply narcissistic. She ought to be chewing the scenery like Rita Repulsa!

I had to attend hs in Alabama and they made us watch that god’s not dead movie, almost every movie they played were christian related. They also made everyone pray and hold hands on the football field when one of the students passed away in a car accident (he was drunk and speeding) and they told us we’d have ISS if we didn’t participate, they’d say the same thing with football pep rallies. I’m not sure if it was a religious holiday or something but one day they gathered the students into the gymnasium and had men in robes carrying huge wooden crosses on their backs and they were passing out tiny red marbles and the was a whole 30 minute religious speech.

I'm a Christian, and "God's Not Dead" pisses me off. It paints atheists as the bad guy and further pushes the narrative that we should separate ourselves from the people the Bible says to show love to. I always tell people I hate religion, because it's a man made concept and only causes hate, war, and divide. Love each other
