Incredible. Considering how similar build the two versions have in car mode, I thought that the robot mode was going to look just as similar - but it does not. Instead, it is way more cartoon-accurate than the official Masterpiece figure and overall looks much better in the robot mode. I would definitely get rather this than the official Sideswipe.

I like both versions of the Masterpiece Sideswipe, but the BadCude version does some neat tricks with the transformation like weapon storage.

I gave in and finally picked this guy up. I had the official MP sideswipe, but I wasn't a huge fan of the "chunky legs and suuuuper tiny little feeties!" 😂 Now that I have this one, in hand, I can say wow! He looks so much better, in both modes than any video can ever really show. Truly an impressive feat of engineering and build quality. Now he stands proudly on my MP shelf with the official relegated to permanent alt mode display. He does have some better paint in Lamborghini mode so, it all shakes out. However, I AM a stickler for G1 cartoon accuracy over toy aesthetics or "realism." So with that said, get whichever version stands out best to you, but Bad Cube really did a great job. Thanks for the great vid as always Em, I grabbed this guy after watching this particular video about 30 times. 😂😂 Keep on truckin' brother!

What really struck me about this figure, and something I haven't heard any of the reviews comment on, is how seamless the fit & finish is on this piece in car mode. Everything fits together so precisely and tightly. And the red just pops! It looks like he was taken to the detail shop, given a nice coat of carnuba wax, and buffed out with wool pad. Quality, design, posability, it all blows the official version out of the water, IMHO. And I know you don't care about Red Alert, but Recon is worth getting. In a lot of ways it's really the nicer of the two figures. You'd be amazed at all of the differences that BadCube put into it.

Odd timing, but I appreciate the MP line being continued and developed. 3rd parties add a lot a for collectors, they fill in gaps. Hurray for Badcube!!

I just got mine and, well... my Takara's is going into the box and now this will be my displayed Sideswipe. Nothing against the original Masterpiece Sideswipe, but Bad Cube's fits my collection much better. Great review as always, emgo316! I always follow your step by step transformations when dealing with my figures. Keep it up! Great videos, very informative, very funny and entertaining at the same time. Cheers!

I never got MP sideswipe, because that wide chest is too much. THis is 85% perfect. the accessories for the hand look a bit small ( as well as the shoulder launcher, but those are forgivable) but the largest problem are those knees. They look like they bend both ways and I dont see why they needed to go with that design. I love fake chest gimmicks.If I get a good price, Ill get this one, because I doubt if anyone will do better for this character . I dont ( an likely wont) own MP-10 Prime, so that excellet rocket pack will go to waste.

With Maketoys Meteor i feel it will be easy to have that replace the original seeker mold. its definatly past its prime. for Steamroll i feel it'll be more of a double edged sword for people. personally i like them both, but i cannot make a call on which is better honestly. i say do whatever makes you happy. thanks for the review and my new favorite cut away gag

So happy I shelled out for this, rather than settle for the MP KO. With a bit of die cast and maybe cleaner forearms, this could have been perfect. I won't replace this even if Fanstoys releases a better one.

I´m impressed with your super smooth transformation. Great video! I realy like that they integrated the sholdercannon in to the alt mode. If I did not already have mp sideswipe I’d buy this instead.

Wish emgo spent more time comparing it with the Takara version. Anyway... Might have to get this as I really like that bot proportion and sleek alt mod with no nasty transformation lines. Also the engineering is brilliant. I didn't like the Sideswipe/Lambor mold much and only have the black G2 version of him.

I'd say this version looks better in robot mode than the official version. His facial details are easier to see on camera. The official version looks slightly better in car mode due to the extra black details.

Well engineered, nice articulation and clear transformation. My Only comment is head sculpt can be tweak a little bit better and hope the masterpiece face sculpt can fit on the Badcube head👍
