People love to assume everything is a choice, especially when it's something they don't understand or if it has to do with psychology and the mind. To them, if something isn't a choice then their whole world would fall apart and they'd have an existential crisis because they realise nothing is actually objective so "nothing means anything anymore" I can't count the number of times a Muslim or Christian has trotted out the same old tired fallacy "it must be a choice". I have no patience for bigots anymore, if you're gonna be ignorant and hateful don't come running to us crying "please care about MY rights". How close would you say we humans are to understanding the truths of the universe...are we 50%? Are we less or more? @@Conan_the_rastafarian Forget the percentage when you doesn't even know how big is the pool you try to measure! That's just fallacious. Science doesn't care what it miss, it only cares what can be proven. There is a way to play with half-known stuff, called Hypotheses. Science will never claim something to be true, until it has been proven efficiently. There is no such thing magical, but 'unproven', or YET UNEXPLAINABLE.
@MrMattSax Жыл бұрын
@@Conan_the_rastafarian The scientific method relies on methodological naturalism, which is to say that the natural world can be explained by natural means. This is different than philosophical naturalism that states the natural world is all there is. Supernatural (magical) explanations should be considered possible when they are able to be demonstrated. Your argument from percentages just doesn't seem relevant. Yes, our knowledge is limited. Could the supernatural exist in the gaps of our knowledge? Yes. But to the skeptic, belief should be withheld until the evidence is sufficient. The scientific method relies on predictability, which is to say, when a theory can be shown to make reliable, testable predictions, then the support for that theory increases. The trouble with supernatural claims is that they are designed specifically to prevent predictability. If they did allow for testable predications, then they would likely be considered understandable. What seems more likely is that supernatural explanations are just placeholder ideas that allow us to feel we have explanations for things we don't understand. The trouble is they lack in sufficient evidence. They are also deeply without any pragmatic use, because they are untestable, unfalsifiable, have no predictive power. They can also explain any possible claim and thus are infinitely expandable. Why did my car not start? Because of the supernatural. Is that a useful explanation? Not to me. I would rather have someone who understands the workings of a car actually find out why then just say "it was magic". Scientific explanations allow for an increasing of knowledge, supernatural claims give us a bad answer and discourage us from finding actual, useful, reliable answers.

@@ericwilliams1659 ALL gods are imaginary. No people = No imagined gods. EVOLUTION FOR EASY UNDERSTANDING (PART 1) Evolution The Proof.. Evolution is proven by many different sciences all confirming it. Does it have a million year long video, showing a fish changing into a cat, as crazy creationists demand...? NO and it NEVER has claimed to.. It does not know every single step of evolution and it possibly NEVER will. This is the "god of the gaps" argument loved by religionists, as if it proves evolution wrong and their creator idea to be correct.. It DOESN'T? They used to think thunder was gods being angry and rain was angels tears etc. Science ACCIDENTALLY proved this religious belief to be UTTER nonsense. Religion HAD to admit their beliefs were wrong but it didn't want to, so what it did, was look for gaps in the knowledge of science and proclam.. There you are! Our god did that bit. It's NONSENSE. It has been constantly attacking evolution by this method and variations of it ever since. Evolution is OBVIOUS, even without the complex scientific evidence that proves and confirms it. Here is the undeniable proof. Seals, sea lions, walruses.... Common ancestor.. OBVIOUS. Tigers lions, leopards, cheetahs.... Common ancestor... OBVIOUS. Horses, zebras, donkeys. Common ancestor...... OBVIOUS. Monkeys, chimpanzees, gorillas, humans... Common ancestor.. OBVIOUS... Ahh say the creationists.... Where is one "kind" changing to another "kind"? Evolution says, well, that is dependent on various factors and it takes a very long time.. We don't have a 4 million year long video to show you step by step. But we have a great deal of other evidence that supports this conclusion, in genetics and DNA, geology and the fossil record etc. They all confirm each other.. Not good enough, says creationism.. We want something that shows one "kind" "evolving" into a completely different "kind." Well creationists. Look in in your own garden or local ponds. There you will SEE with your own eyes a legless creature that breathes water and has GILLS,! EVOLVE into a LAND living creature, with four LEGS and air breathing LUNGS! If that's not enough... You can find a ground dwelling creature, that has many legs and EVOLVING into a FLYING creature with WINGS! that eats completely DIFFERENT food from the ground dwelling creature it used to be.... This happens EVERYWHERE in the world billions of times every year. Now that's called UNDENIABLE evidence, that one "kind" can change to a completely different "kind" by entirely natural means.. In order to insert an imagined creator into this process these questions must be answered. (A) What is the imagined creator formed composed of? If it "exists" it must have substance. (B) How did the imagined creator create itself out of nothing? (C) Where did this imagined creator get the stuff it made everything else from? (D) How did it create the first thing? (Detailed step by step explanatio, as creationism demands of science). When creationists, can nail someone to a tree stick spears in them, have a medical doctor certify them as dead, then bring them back to life AND prove the causal link between them doing this and the forgiveness of other people's crimes/sins... THEN they might have a point. Till they CAN, a story in an old book written by people just WON'T do! EVOLUTION FOR EASY UNDERSTANDING (PART 2) This is how it works: Picture a long wall with photos hanging on it. The first picture is of YOU. The next picture is of your father (or, feel free to substitute mother/mothers) - who certainly resembles you, but not exactly. The next picture is of your father’s father (your grandfather) and then a picture of his father, and so on & so forth - picture after picture of successive fathers. Now, this is a VERY long wall stretching for miles & miles - covered with photos successive fathers and ALL of them ancestors of YOU. Walk down along the wall 20-30 generations and you’ll notice that the people pictured all still strongly resemble you generally (though maybe not so you’d necessarily recognize a “family resemblance”). And, while you’d certainly call them “human”, but you might notice that they’re typically a bit shorter than you and your father. But, obviously, they’re still pictures of “people”, and if you had a time machine and travelled back to meet that generation, you (as a modern human) would certainly be capable of successfully mating with others in your ancestor’s town or village. Now, keep walking down that wall of YOUR fathers for about 10,000 generations. You’ll notice that the pictures no longer resemble YOU as much as they used to. You’ll notice that the subjects are typically hairier than you and maybe a little hunched. If you travelled back to this time, you may not be able to successfully breed with members of your ancestor’s tribe or group. This circumstance WILL be true at some point along the wall. Keep going down the wall looking at successive pictures and you will reach a point where you would find yourself wanting to call the ancestors in the photos “apes”. They will not look exactly exactly like a modern apes (who, themselves, have evolved independently to fit their environments, even though photos of THEIR fathers might converge a cousin of the ancestor who’s photo you are currently looking at - and WILL eventually converge at some ancestor of YOURS). Now, here’s where I blow your mind. Keep going down and down along this wall of YOUR ancestors past several MILLION of YOUR fathers’ fathers … and you’ll be looking a photos of FISH!! At any given visible span along the wall in any direction, children will resemble their immediate parents and definitely be part of their species. But, over great distances (in time & generations), the minor differences in traits from parent to offspring will add up to such a degree where the some of YOUR ancestors are clearly across a species barrier from you, and eventually whole Genus, Family, Class, Phylum, etc … barriers get crossed. There is no place along the wall that you could rationally draw a line between two adjacent photos and claim that a new species started with THIS specific ancestor of yours. Each child is part of his parent’s species. You can ONLY tell that it happened gradually across a wide, WIDE band of your ancestors when you compare photos that are miles apart on the wall. So, there was no Adam & no Eve. No “first human”. No baby that was a “human

I think my answer wouldn't have been specific examples of the evolutionary tale behind particular biological flaws. I think my answer would have been "evolution doesn't have to explain poor outcomes because evolution isn't done - it's an ongoing process." Faith has to justify the manifest imperfections because humans are, in an unconsidered fashion, considered an end product of a finite creation process. If you start off thinking "God made us" (past tense.), then that's *done*, we are what we were made to be, period end of story. Because of that, flaws have to be explained away with increasingly complex and off-the-wall stories. The theory of Evolution teaches that previous generations were one way in one situation, and future generations will be another way in another situation (if we make it), and how we are now is just somewhere along the way. Anything that's wrong with us just hasn't been wrong enough to end our species. Yet.

Evolution? No. There's not been any new anatomy/evolution/gain of complexity in any human, plant or animal for +/- 10,000 years. Yet, we observe TRUE NATURE every day (e.g. flower bloom, gravity, reproduction, sunshine). No atheist has a rational atheist explanation for reality. That's because there isn't one. So your only play is to say you don't see God. But then God replies that you have "no excuse," because you know he exists by what has been made. And he's correct. Because star dust, mud puddles, nothing nor moon dirt has the INTELLIGENCE, POWER, PURPOSE, RESOURCES & MEANS to produce LIFE, INTELLIGENCE, LOVE, CONSCIOUSNESS & MORALITY or maintain it. God is the only rational cause for the world and we call him “OUR INFINITE/ETERNAL/SUPERNATURAL GOD.” The Bible speaks to all these facts. The Book of Genesis explains it. God created time/space/matter/energy: "In the beginning (time), God created the heavens (space) & the earth (matter/energy/atoms/coal/oil/natural gas etc., etc.)." - Genesis 1:1 Then he cursed Adam & everything of Adam's authority when Adam sinned: “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned.” - Rom 5:12 "He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together." - Colossians 1:17

I read what you wrote twice to make sure I understood you stating that evolution is scientific. I would suggest you look into the definitions of science and the scientific method, because OBSERVATION IS REQUIRED in science. The word observare is Latin; Ob - towards Servare - attend to, look at Observare - to watch. The "claimed" millions of years disqualifies evolution as science or scientific. As one human who cares about another, don't keep repeating this nonsense because you are showing your ignorance. Science discovered vinegar and baking soda have a very gassy and bubbly reaction. It is measurable, repeatable and testable. The theory of evolution is none of those therefore not science via the scientific method. And one more nail in the theory of evolution's coffin is where and how vegetation is explained, it is interesting it isn't explained at all. The word theory is a supposition, a supposition is an uncertain belief. If the theory of evolution is proven, why is it still called a theory?
@eblake626 Жыл бұрын
@@darinb.3273 You've drank too much Jesus kool-aid. First, in the scientific community, "theory" means fact whereas "hypothesis" means unproven idea. Second, Richard Dawkins can teach you all about the evolutionary proof we have for vegetation if you're willing to step outside your cult for one of his videos. The bible teaches us that the world is flat in Isaiah 40:22 & 22:18 and that it has 4 corners in Ezekiel 7:2 & Revelation 7:1. Do you agree or acknowledge the bible is wrong?

We know this is true because we know distance of far away galaxies and how fast light travels. We are literally zooming in and out millions of years with a touch of a button comparing stars and planets, so YES, we can observe cosmic evolution by looking into the past. (Contrary to common belief genes only instruct for biogenic compounds, lipids, proteins, amino acids; they are not architectural blueprints. That information is contained within the internal structure of the cell.) We are missing the information for 9 amino acids that we absolutely need to be human. ‘Biologically’ (if biology is defined by what biogenic chemicals our bodies can make via our genes) none of us are complete humans. Our genes are missing the instructions for nearly half of the amino acids which make us human. Genetically none of us is a complete biologically orthodox human being. We need to ingest those amino acids from the environment which is similar to taking medication. (Many medications consists of proteins our genes cannot produce so go figure) Genes code for biogenic chemicals. Our genes do not code for all the biogenic chemicals which make us human. Our genes are an incomplete ingredient list.

That's quite a claim, Dandruff. Got any evidence to support it?

So, no evidence. Claim dismissed. Got anything else for us, Dandruff?

@@Dan-dy3ftAllegedly that is your opinion- duly noted. People can read the OP for themselves and then assess the claim you just made about it accordingly.

@@Dan-dy3ft, again, people can compare what I actually said to your misrepresentation of it, at least until you delete your comments on this thread.

"why would a perfect deity want anything from humans? " Maybe we are a food crop... Past extinctions, the flood, etc, were simply harvests... lol

I would say if you accept the Biblical account, then it's the opposite: the fall of man is explained by bad design!

No actually. That's why it exists. Among other things. The more "males" babies a mother have the more likely it's for the youngest to be gay. And the infamous "they are making the frogs gay" stuff exists because when some frogs have an over popilation of males or females some of them Will tranision to the other sex. Nature is Funky like that.

Actually it's more that the immediate benefit is increased childcare for their heterosexual relatives. Essentially it makes a better K strategy than r (sort of quality over quantity)

I haven't watched the video yet but I wanted to address the subject based on the title. Even if we do live in a fallen world, that fall occurred exactly as their god dictated it would. Anything bad about the world is still the result of their god's choices and their god's implementation. Bad design is still god's design. is it better that that was intentional rather than due to incompetence?

Nitpick on your interpretation of Genesis: Adam and Eve were always going to die physically, but the death that god tells them they will have is their immortal death. They sinned by eating the fruit, so now they cannot enter heaven and thus will spiritually die. I’m atheist now but this was something I understood even back when I wasn’t.
@Leith_Crowther6 ай бұрын
That’s not really a common enough interpretation to make it the default one.

His final comment of straight women choosing men😂😂😂. I would’ve liked to hear more of his reasoning on that.
