They should also st up gantries similar to toll both ones in various states which snap off a pic as you enter the freeway/tollway/motorway...and another when you exit...they then see the elapsed time between pictures, and if less than the time taken to travel that distance at signed speed limit...fines arrive in the mail...this would prevent the “does 150 down freeway, but slows rapidly to 90 near camera then back up to 150 after the camera”
@LaKoeps4 жыл бұрын
@@AlienLivesMatter it's not possible to get 100% traffic flow on any given intersection. The best option is roundabouts, with highest flow and lowest collision rates. However, even those have certain rules that you have to follow. In the Netherlands in a city called 's-Hertogenbosch they have very smart traffic light systems that can detect cars from a few hundred meters away. The system continually analyses traffic flow and density as to try to let everyone pass without delay. It works amazingly well versus "dumb" traffic lights with standard cycles, but still doesn't compare to the flow and safety of roundabouts. IF people pay attention and follow protocol that is.

@@rewinapier8474 Ok good! I saw some Chinese 'hipster' in Springvale a few years back, who thought he was too cool for school riding 1 of those electric unicycles on the foot path, weaving in & out of other pedestrians! I berated him for his illegal toy riding but he ignored me! Others on the street too, were unimpressed. (Buckingham ave, Springvale, shopping district.)

@@rewinapier8474 I wish they were illegal here in NZ, max is 300Wat and they are allowed on the road WITHOUT a helmet... E-scooters can be used on the footpath or the road - except in designated cycle lanes that are part of the road (which were designed for the sole use of cyclists). On the footpath the user must: operate the device in a careful and considerate manner operate the device at a speed that does not put other footpath users at risk give way to both pedestrians and drivers of mobility devices. On the road, e-scooters must be operated as near as practicable to the edge of the roadway. A helmet is not legally required to be worn when using an e-scooter, but is recommended. Bloody ridiculous!

as entertaining as these vids are, I think that red-light-runners need to have their licences immediately suspended for at least 90 days and the vehicle they're driving impounded for the same amount of time. Obviously the threat of fines and points is not working... Especially for those who need to drive for work, I think it would be a lot more effective a deterrent than the current system.
