@Rcheliguy Thank you very much! I was flying a bit too far away, so even the M4 Max is small like a moskito 😀. But somehow in winds and when my wife is with me filming I rather keep this flying chaoisaw far away from us!!

With a hard tailwind the loops are faster. When pulling up you need to hit the elevator a little harder since the wind pushes you forward and makes the loop lopsided. You also need a little more positive pitch in the climb, and a little more negative while inverted. Coming out of the loop you'll pick up speed fast and can end up low if you don't catch it soon enough
@RCCopterLove3 ай бұрын
@RubenRC94 Thank you Ruben! This sounds very logical! So I have to fly faster before I even start the loop to "overtake" the wind from behind and build up more relative speed before I go up with more elevetaor and positive pitch etc! For sure this will be a great exercise to get more flexible. I have the bad luck that almost all the time the wind comes from the very same side. I will try it. I just still feel uncomfortable with tailwind. But I want to overcome this very much!! Best Greetings!! PS: I will do it higher to have altitude reserves!! Thanks for the warning!!
@RubenRC942 ай бұрын
You don't necessarily have to do it faster. But think of it this way. Going with the wind (forward flight) the heli gets pushed forward so it's a little more responsive and the disc has less speed compared to the air around it (because of the wind) . As soon as you pull up the wind hits the rotor, wich acts like a disk. So the points it's tail down it gets pushed in the direction of the wind very hard. Here you need more positive to fight the wind and fly backwards. When you're invested you need LESS negative, I said more but mixed things up. Here you're moving against the wind got a bit so the wind acts as a cushion. When you come out of the loop the wind hits the rotor from the back again and pushed the heli down and forward. This is why you can drop a lot more. Wins also effects with the headspeed causing it to drop faster. In high winds I always fly a higher headspeed it makes things a little easier. Good luck with the practice!

@@RubenRC94 Thank you very much for clarifing it! Now I get it!! Usually I really like to fly in winds. Just new or rather new stuff is more difficult to learn because I cannot always analyze which is the effect of the wind and what is caused by my stick inputs. I wish you that you find more time for flying and having time for your family at the same time!!

@@RCCopterLove Heli is like a bumble bee or humingbird. Its brute force and nothing aerodynamic except the blade. Zero airspeed needed. Just tip over with cyclic and hold, throttle, flip and catch inverted. Yes, dont do full 360. Learn to flip. Learn hover inverted. Then back to upright. Also, flipping into wind creates lift. In my 6600 flights(30 crashes), i have never crashed on flip. Reflex, reflex, reflex. Always, sim first. Keep on mate.

It's nice to see you are still having nice weather to fly in. It's important to fly when the wind is up. The experience you gain, and the challenge to keep the heli in control trying to fly smoothly in it. Nice work Matthias!

@AnythingEverythingRC Thank you very much! We are having hot summer weather since two weeks: More than 35 degrees C so that I fly very early in the morning. Otherwise it's getting to hot for me. I like the wind as a great teacher. And I have no choice: Here we are having almost every day wind. Very, very seldom it's a calm day. Almost never! I wish you great progress and good weather to fly... as well as the necessary time to fly!!

Good job Matthias!! Your flying is improving with every video! The main thing I see that might help you is adding a bit more negative pitch during the inverted portion of your manouvers. Keep going!! 🙂

@rickhayes Thank you so much for your continous encouragement! These words are so important and make me feel so good. because I know you are very experienced. I love trying, and I will try more negative pitch when inverted, and even if the heli goes up a bit. Just for experimenting. I guess experiments, trying new things are bringing us pilots forward!! Great job, the wind can make it hard, but can also teach you a lot..

@shtumpa1 Thank you very much! Yes, usually I like the wind and call him my "best teacher". In the first two years I experienced some of these "magical clicks" when something went easy with which I struggled before on quite windy days. Maybe I was busy with understanding the wind, thought less about the maneuver and that helped. Best greetings and happy flights!!

well explained! was also practicing today, to roll & noticed that with the wind behind it went much worse.. it is all about fingertip feeling., and a good concentration of the steering movements.. Keep it up 💪🏽

@rudophfranken 1446 Thank you Ruud. Yes, concentration AND being loose and somehow free in your mind are very important. Thats why I can repeat some moves only a limited time. Then my concentration is "eaten up". Yes, it's all about the feeling!! Thanks and go, go, go!! Happy flights!!

Hi Matthias nice flying. The loops are coming much less egg shaped and more in control. I am flying these maneuvers on the sim at the moment but still don't feel ready for it in real time. keep up the good work you are progressing nicely. 👍😎

@All_things_RC Thank you very much for your encouraging words! You are doing the right thing if you don't do new maneuvers on the field before you feel ready. I did not listen to my intuition for a couple of times and it mostly ended in a crash. I prefer waiting even a bit too long than to not be ready and crash! Many safe flights!! Greetings Matthias

it seems like no matter what we fly and where we live, the wind just wont go away.
@RCCopterLove2 ай бұрын
@frankienv3906 You are absolutely right. In my aerea itis almost every day a bit wind, very often a lot of wind and almost never no wind. I got used to it and I believe that the wind was teaching me a lot. On some days I have to fix my bags and my small camping seat for breaks with tea and a little relax between flights with stones, because otherwise they would be blown away. Many dog walkers watch in disbelieve in how much wind I am now flying my M4. So it also has a good side. But sometimes I am dreaming of less wind. The hope for us never dies! Best greetings!

Nice video! I'm at a very similar spot. Working on making the loops large (very fun). The rolls in forward flight are better for me (as well as backwards flight). Have you also tried staying in the roll and doing 2 or more? This is fairly scary at first but also fun.
@RCCopterLove2 ай бұрын
@nfavor Thank you for your kind words! Yes, You can see and hear in the video how much fun the big loops are for me! I love as well to straighen out the elevator on the top and to fly a bit inverted on a straight line! I once tried more than one roll in a row but on the way through the second one I lost where I (sorry my heli) am. Fortunately I was high enough to catch my heli, but it was all over the place!!😂 I guess I need a lot of time to get there! Backwards flight... well I have a lot to train there. I am still very not fluent in this, mixing directions. A long way, many trainng flights needed! But thats what love the most: Flying! And I am happy to have a good reason to to keep flying a lot!! Best greetings!!

A few tips, sir: 1.) Heli is not an airplane. Do not rely on forward speed. 2.) The heli is "best" able to do a roll at "zero ground/air speed". Yes, hover and roll 180 degrees to invert. Hold. Then roll back 180 Deg to upright position. This is the best way to practice. Do not execute a "hold your breathe" and roll hard without applying "perfectly timed" negative pitch. 3.) Once, you mastered you should discover "on your own" that best roll requires a "pre-roll" or "bank" swing to one side 45 Deg to begin a pendulum rock back momentum. Again, do not rely on hard powering aileron on the cyclic to execute a perfect roll. 4.) Everything I have mentioned you must first practice on the simulator, so you understand what I am prescribing. Then practice until it "becomes a reflex" not unlike playing a musical instrument. Enjoy....

@trexinvert Thank you very much for your great tips! I will try all your tips in the sim first. You hit the nail with your observation: I got my inspiration for rolls in forward flight fom watchinmg plane acrobatics. For me it looks so great how fine planes are rolling and doing half rolls. My (luxury) problem is that I have sooo much good weather without rain (but a lot of wind) here, that I can fly almost every day. And I am doing much too few simulator traing. I hope now in Autumn and winter I will change it! Best greetings and once again thank you!!

You should try zero degree rolls with high forward speed.
@RCCopterLove2 ай бұрын
@Viper81BB So you mean if the forward speed is high enough I do not even have to apply negative collective pitch in the moment when the heli is inverted? Collective pitch stick on midpostion zero and the heli does not fall? Thanks for explaining!

@@RCCopterLove first on enter to roll You should add some positive elevator, next elevator and pitch goes to center position (zero degree) , next aileron fast move. Working fine.
