Regarding your question about singles: yep, most of the songs on the album were released as singles, that's why they're so big, and Bad was also a historical album because it had a whopping FIVE #1 songs on it!
@horrorpowerfilms9481Күн бұрын
But the songs were modest #1 hits, just the title broke the record for fastest #1 song in history to leave the top 40 and the rest were ok sellers.

Leave Me Alone was originally a bonus track available only on the CD album.
@_l_i_h_4085Ай бұрын
That's right. "Leave Me Alone" was one of the songs that did not make it onto the final version of the album. The "Leave Me Alone" video aired as a separate entity and won a Grammy in 1990 for Best Music Video, Short Form, which is the only Grammy Award Michael received for the album Bad. (Such a shame!) "Leave Me Alone" video also won the Cannes Gold Lion Award for Best Special Effects. Huge MJ fan here :)))))

The CRAZIEST thing is that MJ was such a perfectionist that he was never completely satisfied any of his work. He’d say that usually when he listened to his music, he’d hear everything that wasn’t there, that should be there.
@itsjustnaimaАй бұрын
He also did the same after his concerts, he’d sit down after his concerts and watch the whole footage in his hotel room looking for nothing but mistakes to make sure he wouldn’t do them again. What a perfectionist..🐐
@luana45393Ай бұрын
Probably because of his father who would beat him at ANY mistake and it was never good enough, it's okay to want to do better but he should have known that no one is perfect all the time and that it is okay. I'd say it's quite unhealthy.
@dancingwheels8494Ай бұрын
@@luana45393 I think a huge part of it was his father. But MJ a voracious reader and studier of the greats. Over time, he would adopt their techniques. For example, Quincy Jones was known to make the artist do the dame thing over and over, like 100 times. But MJ liked that because it brought the best in them.

Another Part Of Me was actually first released as part of a disney short film called Captain EO (1986) which stars Michael as the main character! That and another song called We Are Here To Change The World! You should watch it, would love a reaction actually!
@Taj_RahineАй бұрын
Captain EO at Disney was so amazing. Another Part of Me was the song that played at the end while the credits were rolling. I would always walk out as slowly as possible to hear as much of the song as I could. It was almost shocking to me that people could actually walk out of the room while this song was jamming through the theater system.

In regards to "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", Siedah Garret is also singing throughout the song. They pretty much have an equal amount of lines and they harmonise the chorus together. Her cadence is very similar to his in this song and a lot of people aren't able to distinguish it upon first listen but if you listen again closely, you'll notice that there are indeed two different voices.
@VeganaAnarkiistoАй бұрын
Siedah Garett singing on IJCSLY also wrote man in the mirror. Stevie Wonder singing on Just good friends wrote the wonderful I can't help it on adult MJ's first solo album Off the wall. I got MJ's catalog engraved in my ears, but it's really nice to see more people still discovering all the many colors of His music. 🤟👍

I think Leave Me Alone was a bonus track for the album, that's probably why you feel like it sounds weird as an outro cause originally the last song was supposed to be Smooth Criminal. And I'm also pretty sure Smooth Criminal was supposed to be the name of the album at first so that's probably why it was the last song (if it wasn't for Leave Me Alone).

If you're going to continue reacting to the MJ Albums I'd go back and do Off the Wall (1979) at somepoint as well as there's probably 1-2 tracks you'll know from that one as well and it is his 3rd best selling album I believe. The other must do ones are Dangerous (1991) and HIStory - Past Present and Future (1995), although just be aware that the first part of history is repeated material and the second part is the new songs. You can do the others are good too but those 5 are the big ones.

"I Just Can't Stop Loving You" - not the best thing in the world, probably the weakest thing on the album. Well known for Siedah Garrett's vocals, but don't underestimate her - she wrote the lyrics for "Man In The Mirror", Michael loved her lyrics so much, and well the rest is history. Also "Leave Me Alone" was only on the CD release at the time, so most of us didn't even know about it's existence. Thankfully, they released it as a single the following year. A banger that a lot us almost missed out on! You MUST watch the video for this - the context is completely necessary to understand the song. Do it. Do it now.

@@luana45393 That's the pronunciation, not the name ! That's the pronunciation for "Come on" ! Why have you removed my comment about "Another Part Of Me" ? Here it is (I re-publish it because it has been removed unfairly) "Another Part Of Me" was originally a 1986 song made by Michael Jackson for the George Lucas' film Captain EO displayed in an attraction of Disneyland Michael Jackson plays the main character into it 💖 And that's very interesting because when you watch him and listen to him, that's the perfect (missing) bridge between the Thriller and the Bad periods, you can recognize both of the periods in the way he looks, dances and sings 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 and I love the other song he made for the film (that unfortunately does not appear on the Bad album "We Are Here To Change The World" 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍) You can find the videos on KZbin, if you want 😉

Mistake in the lyrics for "Man in The Mirror" as well ! Your source (Musixmatch) is really awful ! That's not "I'm startin' with the man in the mirror (Who ?)" but "I'm startin' with the man in the mirror (Hoo !)" In the official booklet, there is not any "who ?"... If Musixmatch goes that way, it should as well write "If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make that change ! Who ? Who ? Who ?" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 By the way, it's "take a look at yourself and make that change" not "...the change", contrary to what your source pretends Edit : Oh, here it's "Chime on", in Bad it was "Shamone" but it's THE SAME WORDS, a slang pronunciation of "Come on", come on ! 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Oh, at least at 34:07 (or around) they understood the "Hoo !" ! Better late than never ! 34:41 I imagine if they kept on with their mistake "Who ? Who ? Who ? How ?" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 What shocks me the most is that Musixmatch didn't even bother just read the lyrics ! They just wrote them by what they thought they heard, that's not respectful to Michael Jackson and to any singer in general... If they want to create a company that displays the lyrics of the songs, the need to do it properly !
