5:54 I've got a stereo pair of old JBL Xtremes on opposite sides of my bedroom and this is really big and swimmy! 😃 ... and the finale totally reminds me of when I was into Anjunabeats stuff. It's like the good part of ABGT 350 Prague! But the noodle-y bit reminds me of that Doi-oing mashup on Sasha/Digweed Northern Exposure 2. The one that starts with "A city entombed in volcanic ash..." from the LP version of Blue then loops it into the original 12" version with a girl saying "A world forgotten... A sunken memory..." and it'll drive you crazy trying to figure out what track it is because it's two versions of the same track.

Huh. One immutable law of synth history is that machines which fail at their intended task will be reborn as classics when used for other purposes. Moog seems to have sped up the process. It's not a great vocoder, but it is far more interesting when doing anything but being a vocoder.

@5:25 you featured my first drum machine (the BOSS) LOL I have no idea what happened to it - I bought it off a music teacher from a tiny rural high school that happened to specialize in MIDI production this was like 1991-92 - he wasn't sampling at the time ..(I was lusting after a MPC-60 or a SP-1200) , he wanted to sell me a sound canvas - makes me recall my ingrained snobbery of using 'stock sounds ' (ironic I bought the Drum Machine)... goes back that far which I never shook . I remember taking every John Aquaviva released record I had (+8) .. and transposing the patterns to the BOSS , people like Speedy J , Hawtin ect.

I'm surprised that almost all synth and keyboard demonstrators say that they can't play keys. At first I would say: choose another hobby, but then videos of Florian are surprisingly good.

@@doordedeur Every instrument has its own way of playing notes. Rubbing a string, plucking it, blowing in different ways, pressing keys... Modern electronic instruments offer other ways of playing notes. And as Florian brilliantly demonstrates, if you master the way you play, no matter how you do it, the result will be good!

I'll admit, I bought a Labyrinth 90% for the name (and I don't have a Buchla or a eurorack setup, so it seemed like it could fit a niche), but I do love the sounds on this one. Particularly if you're going for that darkpsy xenomorph biomechanical sound, which really, why wouldn't you?
