I'm a massive fan of the Murf. MIDI Murf in particular. I use it all the time. That the Spectravox doesn't have the stereo spread features made this a pass for me...until I can afford 2 at sharply reduced prices anyway. Excellent demo though.

I enjoyed trying out the Spectravox at Superbooth. I found using with a microphone really brought it to life. Then I tried it with the Subharmonicon and then I REALLY had no idea what was going on.

Huh. One immutable law of synth history is that machines which fail at their intended task will be reborn as classics when used for other purposes. Moog seems to have sped up the process. It's not a great vocoder, but it is far more interesting when doing anything but being a vocoder.

I love the Spectravox, but keep talking myself out of buying it for reasons. Then I come here and I am reminded of what really made it attractive to me in the first place: it sounds awesome with another Moog (and I have 1 other and plans for some paraphonic stereo). But also, I quite like using filter banks, EQ and effects pedals with the Lyra 8; I think these will be an interesting pair to try out.

5:54 I've got a stereo pair of old JBL Xtremes on opposite sides of my bedroom and this is really big and swimmy! 😃 ... and the finale totally reminds me of when I was into Anjunabeats stuff. It's like the good part of ABGT 350 Prague! But the noodle-y bit reminds me of that Doi-oing mashup on Sasha/Digweed Northern Exposure 2. The one that starts with "A city entombed in volcanic ash..." from the LP version of Blue then loops it into the original 12" version with a girl saying "A world forgotten... A sunken memory..." and it'll drive you crazy trying to figure out what track it is because it's two versions of the same track.

@5:25 you featured my first drum machine (the BOSS) LOL I have no idea what happened to it - I bought it off a music teacher from a tiny rural high school that happened to specialize in MIDI production this was like 1991-92 - he wasn't sampling at the time ..(I was lusting after a MPC-60 or a SP-1200) , he wanted to sell me a sound canvas - makes me recall my ingrained snobbery of using 'stock sounds ' (ironic I bought the Drum Machine)... goes back that far which I never shook . I remember taking every John Aquaviva released record I had (+8) .. and transposing the patterns to the BOSS , people like Speedy J , Hawtin ect.

@@AudioPilz I am almost sure mine wasn't AKG because I got it like for free or something, someone left it in the studio and was like "nah its fine". But it looked identical, with that flat top and rigid-y capsule. And was used exactly, on drums mostly, however I would also give it to punk/hardcore singers too, because it seemed it had a good dynamics and you could growl into it. So instead of condensers, I would use Shure 57/58 or this one, it was really aesthetically punky and EBM.

I'm surprised that almost all synth and keyboard demonstrators say that they can't play keys. At first I would say: choose another hobby, but then videos of Florian are surprisingly good.

@@doordedeur Every instrument has its own way of playing notes. Rubbing a string, plucking it, blowing in different ways, pressing keys... Modern electronic instruments offer other ways of playing notes. And as Florian brilliantly demonstrates, if you master the way you play, no matter how you do it, the result will be good!

Hy!... Was sagst du über die "Synth" der "Plus" Geräte von Polyend?! Finde keine vernünftigen Test über die internen Synth. Will mir den Tracker+ zulegen als neuen DAWless-Sequencer.. An sonsten wie immer Geil deine Videos! P.S.: Liven Ambient und Texture fehlen noch in deiner Sammlung! 😉😜
