Thanks for another great video. Also, thank you for identifying all the characters. I think snooker is missing an opportunity by not telling us throughout the game who are the commentators are. Lots of people don’t know, for example, how Stephen Hendry sounds, and he should be a major draw as commentator.

Hi guys. I am curious about how the kick affects the cue ball and object ball (for reference @ 28:30)
@ianboyle1026 Жыл бұрын
Kicks are unpredictable. They don't always cause the pot to be missed. Sometimes, as in a straight follow-through or screw shot, the pot goes in but the cueball's momentum after contact is killed, destroying position. Sometimes the pot is missed on the thick side, as in this particular case. Sometimes the shot stays true, but the balls bounce into the air (an effect more often seen on the superfine cloths the professionals use). Kicks seem to occur when the balls spend extra time -- a matter of microseconds -- in contact, thereby increasing the effects of friction between them. Exactly what causes them is still not fully understood, although chalk residue on one or both balls seems to play a major part.

quite a display of poor sportsmanship for Dott. He really couldn't get a hold of himself.

Well, closing his eyes seems to work for him, but my goodness, he might be missing interesting shots, from which HE might learn a different way of creating potting opportunities. Then again, iIam not a fan of Dott, nor his style of playing, World Champion or not.

Cesar do you know why G. Dott kept looking down instead of looking at Ronnie potting the ball's? ☘

Apparently, not to be intimidated by Ronnie's mastery of making breaks.

Até 9:40, the commentator mentions that Dott was being true to his promise of not looking to his opponent at the table. But that he could still hear the referee calling out the score, which wasn't a nice sound 😂

I have so much respect for their ability to look calm and control their temper. Even when they have small outbursts of frustration. At most other sports you are almost expected to show emotions at some level. I hope they sometimes go to the toilet and just scream to get some of it out of the system (remember to flush it out).

Sorry if this sounds obvious, but it's as if Mr R has a plot in mind of the whole story - the whole game, - then, when a sudden change in the story forces him to change his whole plot, and a new focus (on all of the reds instead of the colors) puts him back into a 'plot' where the 'hero' - the final black - will still win. Has he tried writing a movie? J

Just one of those days where what ever the opponent plays works out some how....its not like Ronnie was slamming centuries after century. This one is all about the ball run, nothing exceptional from anyone...especially the commentators. Some times the tables play so bad they will favour one style vs another. being 5 to 1 down you can see from Graem's shots what a good player he is.

still confused about the free ball, if you would explain it in a simple terms then thatd be nice
@havesomegratitude Жыл бұрын
If you foul and leave the white ball in a place where your opponent cannot see the entire red then a free ball is called. This means your opponent can pot a colour as if it is a red (because they are blocked from potting a red). This is very handy when you are in the snookers required stage as it allows for an additional 8 possible points to be gained per free ball.

7:10 should be foul and miss not just foul right ? Because he hit the black first it's clearly visible. I know it was irrelevant because Graeme had an easy starter red but the miss would have given him the option of getting the balls replaced.
