Sublime play. Liang is one of the best and he showed true class in his game but the Rocket was just in a league of his own today. As he usually is. He's my inspiration for taking up the game and he's probably the greatest to ever pick up a cue. I won't ever be able to forget the effortless cue ball control and the vision. Thank you Ronnie. When a player is making a big break, I don't understand why commentators always have to say something to the effect of, "There's nothing his opponent can do about this." It's just so cliche. I have a question with snooker rules. When player stroke the shot, then referee accidentally block the white ball’s motion while he was in a little rush to replace the color ball. The white ball didn’t move to the supposed direction. In that case, how can the referee deal with the situation without influencing game fairness for both player?
@terryboland38162 жыл бұрын
This is covered by Rule 15. The referee places the white ball where they judge it would have stopped had they not blocked it. The player is not penalised.
@CesarMuroya2 жыл бұрын
If the ref had not yet completed the spotting, it would be a foul, and the opponent decides who plays next.
@terryboland38162 жыл бұрын
@@CesarMuroya Which rule are you applying there?
@CesarMuroya2 жыл бұрын
@terry boland Section 3 Rule 11 a.(i), b(ii) and b(ix). I think they apply before Rule 15.
@terryboland38162 жыл бұрын
@@CesarMuroya Thanks, but those rules apply when the striker plays a shot before balls are respotted etc. The scenario here, if I understand it, is that the referee disturbs the motion of the white while respotting a colour but that the striker has not played a subsequent shot. So I think Rule 15 does apply.

I have to say that the rules concerning the the shot that Wembo played have to be reviewed to cover all parts of the shot until the cueball comes to rest, I think it is long overdue for clarification when a shot like this is subject to the one foot remaining on the floor is required.

McManus sometimes seems like he says something to try to sound like the smartest guy in the room. He's wrong a lot and over-explains things....like that stuff about how Ronnie doesn't play the same way he did when he was younger. He went on and on about it. Keep it simple. No zhit. Obviously Liang was cheated snooker on the green ball at frame 8th..he ain't honestly tell the referee to respot the que ball in the right position.
@nuntana29 ай бұрын
Liang got it wrong and had the referee reposition it in the wrong spot. The ref should have been more forceful as he had it right first time. A bit of a giveaway as Liang could then 'see' the green after the ref incorrectly replaced it the second time.
@michaelolson69822 жыл бұрын
The thumbnail picture is clear evidence that a foul has been committed, this rule of one foot to remain on the floor must be revisited and brought up to date and make it clear that the rule covers the entire time of the shot until the balls come to rest.
@petermccafferty92302 жыл бұрын
I think it is manifestly clear that this is not what the rule covers. The rule doesn’t say that one foot must remain on the ground for the entirety of the stroke. The rule says that striking with both feet off the ground is a foul. Striking is the bit of action that starts the stroke.
