It shouldn't need to be said, but obviously these refs are on the court live watching a million things happen at once, for the entire length of the game. They don't have the benefit of a camera zooming in on one pinpoint of action, with slow-motion for emphasis, or the critical moment clipped out into a 10-second clip on KZbin for you to watch back in the comfort of your bed. Reminds me of the time when I went to a Blazer game against the Celtics. It was a terrible game for Portland. I remember one play where Brandon Roy was going for a layup, but Kevin Garnett blocked the ball after it touched the glass. Lots of angry fans were shouting "That's goal tending!"

The fact that the Booker no call was in the final minutes of a close Finals game with direct Championship implications makes it one of the worst of all time. At the very least, the intentional contact was purposely ignored in order to keep Booker on the floor. A game should be called the exact same way with 3 minutes left as it is 3 minutes in.

there's no reason we shouldn't replace refs with cameras/sensors to eliminate the error tbh, most of these are inexcusable and i'm sure anyone who has watched a sport for a while knows how bad the refs can be
@launchbase49442 жыл бұрын
most fouls are completely arbitrary, you can't ref a fluid game like basketball using rigid rules with roborefs. just have a replay system or an overhead ref that has majority say on calls like this. roborefs aren't always the answer

NBA has always been crooked. That's why they leaked the Tim Donaghy scandal before the whole thing blew up in their faces because they knew how deep it went. The worst officiating in any major sport by a long shot. I still can't get over Allen Iverson getting called for a foul because he 'brought the crowd down'. Absolute disgrace of a league.
