Kraft butter maker daughter died in a car crash when she was 20 in 2012 very sad Rip!

Yeah, it's so heartbreaking Anthony. I know I made mention of her passing and my thoughts on it towards the end, but it genuinely doesn't put across how shocked I was when I found it out. Especially after what I mentioned when she was on the bike in the film. I'd only found out after watching it and was devastated. She was brilliant. Thank you so much for watching!

Brilliant! It's such a great film and hilarious. Well, I'm glad I could be one to watch it as a first reaction, especially over the original which I've yet to see. I will be watching that one too though. You're welcome Amanda! Thanks for watching along with me

Marty, I'm giving you the Like, because you're a nice guy.... but you REALLY need to watch the original 1976 version of this.

OH! Speaking of Baseball movies.... add "Beer League" to your list. It stars Artie Lange and Ralph Macchio (yes, the Karate Kid Ralphy Macchio).

Thank you John, yeah I promise the original is on the list to watch :) This was a Patreon request, hopefully you enjoyed it anyway. The original does look superb from the trailer I've seen. Ooh, yes, I'll add the Beer League film to the list. I was just about to say "from Karate Kid?" Haha you know me too well! Sounds like a great watch! Thank you for watching!

@@MoviesWithMarty I enjoyed your video, yes..... but the movie itself... that was actually MY first time watching that much of it. I remember watching the start of it, and hating it, like 5 minutes in. I admit, I'm a bit of a "purist" when it comes to movies/tv shows. If I don't see the NEED for a remake/reimagining, then it shouldn't be done. It just seems like a "money grab". There was nothing wrong with the original Bad News Bears.... except for the sequels (which were ALSO money grabs). But the original movie was great. Some movies are just "timeless". Red Dawn is another one that got a remake that didn't need to happen. Batman technically got a remake, but it was "different" from the normal "remake" concept. Comic book characters have changed and evolved on the decades since their creation. I mean, they HAVE to. But "self contained" stories don't need such updating. Hell, even The Karate Kid was made into 4 movies, and recently, spawned the "Cobra Kai" series, because the story naturally evolved. If you haven't seen The Karate Kid, I recommend watching all 4 movies (and not the remake!), followed by the Cobra Kai series. BUT.... between the movies and the series, there's a "fan-made" video called "Daniel is the REAL bully" that you should watch. Because it tells the same story but from a different perspective. Sorry for rambling..... and I know it was a Patreon request.... but you should have seen the original first, as there were references to it laced throughout the movie that you missed. Just a suggestion.... but next time someone requests a remake..... watch both versions? Not to nitpick (as I tend to do), but to catch references in the remake you might miss otherwise. Anyway... hope your day was good, and tomorrow even better!

Totally correct on this call. I remember seeing the original at the drive-in when I was a kid, and I just felt so inspired as a not-so-athletic youth. (I also had my first crush that I can remember. Here's looking at you, Tatum O'Neal!)

Why didn't you see the 1976 original? Oh, you didn't know about it? Too bad, Walter Matthau as "Morris Buttermilk" is/was "something for the ages." Billy Bob Thornton does a pretty good job, but he's too young to be an alcoholic, washed-up major league baseball player. 10:26 "Chico's Bail Bonds" was the 1976 movie's uniform sponsor. This production is too full of "made for modern audiences" baggage. 24:20 Sammi Kane Kraft is "way too mature" to be playing 12-year-old "Amanda Whurlitzer!" (Ditto for Jeffrey Davis as "Kelly Leak.") 27:14 It's a sore point that the UK associates Rounders with Baseball. For a great Baseball movie, "A League of Their Own" (1992) is an iconic tale of World War II-era ball players. It was a Patreon request? They should watch better movies.

Hand signals from the catcher are for telling the pitcher what type of pitch he should throw. Some will even wear bright nail polish so the pitcher can see the signals better. MLB just started using technology so those signals are sent straight to the pitchers ear bud.
@seanbumstead12504 ай бұрын
In the original it was Chico's bail bonds as the sponsor

I cracked up when you mentioned Hooters because they are one of the sponsors for the Philadelphia Phillies (MLB) Spring Training ballpark in Florida. Hooters girls are also the ball girls during those practice games, uniforms and all. 😂 Also, youth sports is ridiculously competitive in the US. Baseball, (American) football, basketball (most boys growing up play all 3) Parents fighting with referees/umpires to cheating scandals. Even for girls (cheerleading, dance, soccer, softball…) it’s just as intense. Great reaction (from what I’ve seen so far!) I’ve only watch a little of the original on VHS & don’t remember much but the acting in this one is pretty bad.

Marty, How many Richard Linklater films have you seen? Have you ever seen School Of Rock (Linklater other studio film, or his indis; Slacker, The Before Trilogy?
@MoviesWithMarty Жыл бұрын
Wait... WHAT?! Linklater did School Of Rock?! Holy heck, yeah I've seen that one, I love it! Jack Black (just spotted your surname is Black too!) is amazing in that and I love the little quirky things he does. Ooh not heard of Slacker or The Before trilogy. Do you recommend me watching them? On the channel or off the channel. Thanks for watching Oliver!
@DrVVVinK Жыл бұрын
@@MoviesWithMarty lol. My surename, is not black, nor is my first name Oliver. It's a play on words, and honor to my parents and favorite super hero. in a way. My mother's maiden name is White, opposite of white is Black. My dad's family last name is Hebrew/Yiddish for King (Melech). Opposite of King is Queen. Oliver Queen is the Green Arrow. I love the Green Arrow. Dorky typing it, but yes. And yes Linklater did School of Rock, then Bad News the following year. Filming Before Sunset, and I believe the third year of Boyhood in between. Bears and School are his only major studio movies, where he was a "director for hire" but he was able to make them his own way, by having non professional actors; young athletes for Bears and young musicians for School. Which was cool.
@DrVVVinK Жыл бұрын
@@MoviesWithMarty and yes watch them. Before Trilogy would be good for channel. There has been q few reactors for them, not a whole lot. Slacker I've seen no one react to that, since it would be hard to react to. The movie is made up of all monologues of slackers living in Austin Texas in the early 1990s.
@TTM9691 Жыл бұрын
"Dazed And Confused" is the Linklater film to see......and the one that most resembles "The Bad News Bears" (both the 1976 original, as well as this one). It takes place last day of school, 1976.

@@MoviesWithMarty I saw the original in '76 many times. (Yeah, I was 13-years-old at the time, and I was THERE!) This reaction vid is the first I've seen of the re-make. In was expecting warmed-over crap version, but I'm pleasantly surprised at how many beats it recreates from the original. This version was fun. But Amanda and Kelly looked a little too old to be playing Little Leaguers. Tatum O'Neil was perfect for the role of Amanda. So, in my opinion, the 1976 version is still the best. You said at, the end of this video, that you thought the movie looked even more modern than 2005. Well, strap yourself in for the old-timey 1976 version. It was the world I grew up in, and I'm eagerly awaiting your reaction to it. 😄👍
