Really BAD NEWS For The 2023 Toyota RAV4 Owners...
First, you need to calm down first as the RAV4 is finally here, whoever has the previous version of this model is already quite satisfied with this variant, although if you wish to switch to the upgraded version and want to “Touch the Perfection” of this Toyota variant, well, we have bad news for you, no no nothing related to the car’s functioning, but with the price! Well, to buy the best you need to and be willing to spend more on the upcoming one! You're watching Cars Zone, where we get you all the latest updates altogether, so what are we waiting for, let's get into the video!
The RAV4 compact SUV is consistently the best-selling vehicle in the world. In 2021, however, another Toyota model, the Toyota Corolla surpassed the Camry as the world's best-selling vehicle.
If you want to buy a car, the Toyota RAV4 is your best option. The RAV4 is the best-selling vehicle in the world thanks to 2021 sales of 1,132,000 units by Toyota. As of 2021, the Toyota RAV4 had sold 1,104,000 cars, surpassing the sales of the Toyota Corolla by a wide margin. The Honda CR-V compact SUV (903,000 units sold) and the Nissan Sentra compact vehicle follow the Corolla as the next best-selling cars (693,000 units sold).
IOL reports that Toyota is the best-selling automaker in the world. There were also two other midsize vehicles in the top 10: the Camry and the Hilux. Other Honda models that cut include the Accord midsize sedan, the HR-V subcompact SUV, and the CR-V compact SUV.
However, the Toyota RAV4 competes strongly in the United States. The RAV4 is the best-selling non-pickup truck vehicle in the United States in 2021, with sales of 407,739.
There are a few main reasons why the Toyota RAV4 has sold so well. One reason is that small sport utility vehicles (SUVs) like the Toyota RAV4 are trending upward in popularity everywhere except perhaps in the Middle East. The RAV4's versatility is another strong suit. It's as practical as an SUV but more manageable than a sedan and boasts excellent gas mileage.
The RAV4 is designed to appeal to a large demographic. The LE trim is the more affordable option, while the Limited trim is the more opulent one. Two hybrid variants of the RAV4 are available for those concerned about fuel economy. And the RAV4's TRD Off-Road package caters to off-roaders specifically.
Third, driving a RAV4 is a lot of fun. The RAV4 Prime is an excellent example of this because it can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.5 seconds, which is comparable to the acceleration of a sports car.
The RAV4 also features numerous cutting-edge conveniences. This features a user-friendly infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, as well as driving assistance technologies like lane-tracing assist and dynamic radar cruise control.
Furthermore, the RAV4 is a very reliable car, with a much-deserved reputation for lasting many miles and years. Further, the RAV4's design is both appealing and functional, with a bold and sporty aesthetic.
A new generation of Toyota's best-selling SUV, the RAV4, will debut soon, and with it will come a price hike of more than $2150 for every trim level.
A $2150-2820 price hike has been implemented before the 2023 Toyota RAV4 arrives in Australian shops in December 2022.
Toyota is updating the RAV4, Australia's best-selling SUV, in 2023 with new features including a digital instrument cluster, improved safety features, and an improved infotainment system.
The base price of a Toyota RAV4 GX is now $36,550 plus on-road charges, an increase of $2150 from March 2022; the base price of a Toyota RAV4 GXL is now $37,550 plus on-road costs, an increase of $2450.
The Toyota RAV4 Edge petrol now starts at $53,020 including on-road charges, an increase of $2850 due to the vehicle's new standard LED projector headlights, which replace the parabolic LEDs found on previous gasoline models.

My wife and I had a 2021 Venza Hybrid Limited. Since she drives 28-33k miles a year the gas savings were fantastic. In just under a year with 29k we got rid of the vehicle . Living in Michigan and its climate I wasn't taking any chances. The salesman who sold us the Toyota used to work for Lexus and said for the amount of miles driven your better of purchasing a used RX350 which has the best used car warranty . Six (6) years unlimeted miles Purcchased a 2021 RX in Jan of 2023 and never looked back.

If Toyota can just declare the electrical cable is not a component of the Hybrid system, what is to keep them from declaring the battery, electric motor, etc. as not components of the system? To me, they have made a false and misleading claim about the warranty on the Hybrid system and should be held accountable.

Toyota's response their assembly/design problem is not their first. A similar response, delay, smoke and re-direction, was Toyota's go-to plan when many years of Prius had inverter problems, leading to converter failure and sometimes stranding Toyota owners in the middle of the roadway because of how swift the failure was. TMC drug this issue on for years.
@arunta5
@arunta5 Жыл бұрын
I have asked posters promoting this vehicle about this issue, but there is either there is no problem, evasion or just how great Toyota is. In Australia there is a "reasonable use" section of Consumer Affairs legislation. This means if a part is integrel to the operation of the vehicle (not tyres, batteries etc) it should be expected to be very durable and last a long time even possibly the expected life of the vehicle irrespective of warranty. Canada and USA need similar legislation which is enforced by tribunals and civil courts if required.

The cable corrosion is only an issue if you live somewhere that the highway department puts salt on the road in winter months. If you live in one of these places, you already know that ALL cars have a shorter service life due to that salt. It's attacking all of the wiring harness, all of the nuts, bolts, and weld seams in the underbody. Picking on the Rav4's rear axle power cable specifically is a waste of time. If you drive any car in, say Michigan, you are going to start seeing electrical problems eventually, as the salt corrodes the wiring connectors.

This certainly is beyond ridiculous, and Toyota should NOT varnish its reputation! When I heard about "cablegate", I immediately applied dialectic grease to the rear motor connector of my 2021 Rav4 Hybrid. I did it recently but when I exposed the wires, I saw no signs of corrosion but - nevertheless - this design is more ford- than Toyota-like. Some suggest that the issue only applies to US/CA-made Rav's, mine is made in Japan so maybe that's the reason I have not faced it. On the side note: I ALWAYS buy Toyotas made in Japan.

Granted, in my professional capacity, I did not have to deal with many but stepping in the same puddle more than once violates my religious beliefs. Seems overblown to me and maybe specific to Canada built vehicles--hard to tell from video. Lived 36 years in NH with heavy sand/salt/calcium for snow and always did multiple undercarriage washes per month with no electrical problems. Now in FL and have the 2021 Hybrid XLE version--one of the last 2021's made in the USA. Appropriate undercarriage car-washing, more often in winter for those up North, would minimize the probability of sale/calcium corrosion damage to the high-voltage cable/connections/cover assembly. However, since the high voltage cable for the rear wheel motor(s) doesn't exist/is not necessary for non-Hybrid or Prime models, and the video doesn't use an unbiased source, I am not sure it is really there, which would make the issue totally irrelevant for non-Hybrid/Prime owners even for those in high road-source corrosion localities. It might be there as an "orphan organ" to avoid making Hybrid/Prime specific cable assemblies thereby saving the cost of having separate cable looms for Hybrid vs non-Hybrid models, . But even if there, it would not shut down the non-Hybrid/Prime systems. Sorry for the hassles of the complainant--the expensive replacement cost suggests it is the entire high voltage loom assembly that is replaced, not just corroded junctions, etc.

It's a poor car on many fronts. I drove one for a week whilst my car was in the garage. I drive on a mixture of unmarked, poorly surfaced old rural roads, to B roads, single carriageway A roads and some motorways. On the poor rural roads, the car would send me bouncing sideways and vertically, if you hit a bumpy section of at 40 to 50 mph, the steering would not keep the car on a consistent line, it bounced resulting in loss of control as it tried a to conform to the road.

All my life I wanted a Rav4 Hybrid. This year I finally bought a brand new 2023 and I love the hybrid mileage, the ground clearance and the 4 wheel drive. I was so in love that I totally ignored all the drastic design flaws. The roof is two inches too low. I am 5'10" and I bang my head every time I get in and out and what's even worse is the serious visibility flaws. When I look 30 degrees to the right the rear view mirror is directly in front of my face. If I want to look 30 degrees to the right I have to duck my head down to see underneath the rear view mirror. The center console is three inches too wide on both sides. It digs into my right knee making it painful to my knee cap to keep my foot on the accelerator pedal. I’m thinking about gluing on some padding to ease this problem. My wife also complains about leg discomfort on her side. The side pillars are so wide that I absolutely cannot see oncoming cars at intersections of less than ninety degrees. I feel like this is going to kill me one day. The headrest is so stupidly designed that I sometimes feel like it is forcing my head down. After four months of constantly banging my head, serious visibility problems and the most uncomfortable seating of any car I have ever owned I am now sorry that I ever bought a RAV4 at all. Plus I heard of a new class action law suit because the moon roof drains are short circuiting the air bags which it claims Toyota knew about but failed to fix which the customer must now pay to fix. After four months of living with this car I'm now sorry I ever bought a RAV4.

Had to give this video a thumbs down for burying the headline. I have to wonder how many of the the later year model hybrids have actually see cable contact corrosion already. Also not sure covering the contacts with a sleeve would really keep the corrosive moisture out as well as silicone grease.

If Toyota is going down the slippery slope of treating their customers like the American auto producers have for many years, they can expect their reputation, & therefore sales, to go down the drain rather rapidly.

My wife and I bought a new '18 RAV4 hybrid XLE. Perfect in every way. According to reports the 16, 17, 18 RAV4s (basically all the same) were the very BEST RAV4s ever made. I am happy I have one. From the '19 model year on they are a different vehicle. More problems and quality issues. I would never buy another one as they have gotten very expensive and there are better choices out there.

Toyota makes some of the best vehicles worldwide but their service is terrible... Especially in the country I'm from. The staff members are very cocky and their cost of services exorbitant. This was highlighted prob because it's a 1st world country... But I'm sure this is happening globally but we wouldn't hear about it... 👎

RAV4, they are massive problematic for American consumers lately. Especially Toyota engineering in America, made in America, not reliable became costly to owners. Toyota customers care coverage no longer got fair deal after warranty period. Especially the recalled for most “Frame” five years or more ago, but not many Toyota owners qualified for such Frame corrosion replacements.

In Australia you wait ✋️ 2 years for a RAV4 Hybrid Cruisder. Sales have dropped 30% in Australia. With the price increases whilst you wait has now made my RAV more expensive than a Tesla 3. Fleets of cars have changed from Toyota to Fords and Mitsubishis. What and now there are build issue?? More expensive and biuld problems sounds like a great deal. I have gone from a Toyota fan to a rabid hater. I am telling all my friends dont buy a Toyota.
