Sorry this happened to you Tom, it was only a matter of time before someone broke in. Gotta admit, I found out where it was too out of curiosity but I respect boundaries and would never trespass on your land lol. I don’t even live in the same region as you, but still. The fact that someone didn’t respect your boundaries and privacy and trespassed on your land to be a nuisance, is upsetting and disappointing. Hopefully with some better fences/gates or something, this won’t happen again. CCTV is fine but you need motion detection alerts just in case!

Hey Tom, I was just gonna ask you if you had cameras and on sight guards, you do which is great news. However, if someone stole a Quad bike, I'm guessing you and the guys have did this already, but I'd call the Cops in on this one. God I hate pranksters and thieves, I hope the quad bike gets recovered, and in return the fool who stole it, ends up in handcuffs. Dogs are good, we had some on a junkyard and people would never get far, usually you'd hear the screams before they get anywhere on the property. Get a few cellular night vision night cams and hide them in the trees or bushes, they'll never see them. Hidden cams are good too. They'll notify you when there's movement. Good for scheduled monitoring. Makes it hard for them to get off the land if they're detected.

Yes, most boilers have trackers on them at construction sites for this very reason as boilers are the most expensive (other than machinery) Having one which sets of an alarm if moved along with police URN (unqiue refernce number ) for local police would be the best tom if you haven't but not having valuables on site is still the best and having great neighbours

Definitely extra panel or half on each end. The gap on the render from the panel to the desk shelves is smaller than in your actual room, thats why you're questioning it. I think a half width on each end will do the job

Only thing I can recommend, and sorry I don't remember what they're called, is these large metal plates that go over padlocks so you can only unlock them from underneath and can't get bolt cutters to. Farmers should know what I'm talking about, my grandad had some down on his farm sheds. I know it isn't perfect, because they can go through boards or whatever but always worth a try. I'm very sorry this happened to you and Tom, it's a shame the world is the way it is.

Not worth it. Even locks costing 10x those cheap ones, would be easily destroyed to get in if someone wanted to. It’s easier to make locks hard to get into non-destructively, but even the 2 crow bar attack on an expensive lock will tend to open it in seconds. But you’ve then lost a £200 padlock…for no real benefit.

Office suggestion: I think depends how big is the couch really, if it alligns perfectly with the panelling you can keep it like that, but if it doesn't, extend the panelling to match the couch area. Not sure if a light would kill exposure or not. -As for the land, look into getting some trail camera's. You can position them against the locks to get some extra video of those kids who think breaking in is a good idea. Loving the vlogs.

Day16 of getting Tom to read this A couple of suggestions for the land Tom 1)You should prioritise putting solar panels around your 110 acres of land as technology has come a long way and solar panels have massively improved so they would be a viable option to power anything you might need on the project while you are working. Or even wind generators there are many compact wind generators these days that can be used in an average household. 2)Build water reservoirs around the land to help save on water cost by relying on rainfall to passively generate clean water as future water bills for the land will probably not be cheap. 3)If you are planning to farm vegetables on your land i suggest you try looking at hydroponic farms or grow towers when you are first starting out and you don't want to invest too much to get the family going. They grow entirely via water and nutrients that you can easily control without the help of soil and fertiliser. You can grow more produce than what it takes to grow on soil per square metre so you will be overflowing in produce and you can take the extra produce that you dont need and find ways to help the community or ways to earn some profit to sustain the land via selling in farmers market or giving them to people like wess to make food with. 4)If you want some way of growing rarer types of produce it will be good if you invest in a couple of greenhouses as well. 5)Plant a few porta toilets around the project so whoever that is working on the land can relieve themselves without having to leave the project grounds which gives you more time to work with in a day. Or you can rent out a caravan so that you have toilets and a rest area while you are on the land working. 6)Fence your land in properly so as to ward off any unwanted visitors. 7)Get more 4x4 vehicles on the land asap as you will need them. 8)Maybe in the future you can build yourself a forge and learn how to make your own tools sounds like a cool project idea and free content for the channel and maybe collaborate with other youtubers like Alec Steele 9)For the bunker maybe you should try and get Colin Furze to help you with it as he built his own from scratch. Anyways that should be it for my ramblings thanks for the videos Tom and keep up the good work i am excited to see the future progress on the land been watching since the cod days

Firstly, I feel so bad for Tom, the one time he leaves something on the land. I wish we didn't live in a society where this stuff happens so frequently, and nothing gets done. Secondly, I think in its current state, the symmetrical panelling looks better, but once a sofa is in place, that extra on the side would look much better. Hopefully we can get a render to visualize it. Thirdly, definitely keep the tape over the strips, I think it looks much better when they're hidden, and maybe it's just the camera but I didn't even see a difference between the two colours until you pointed it out... so IMO the visible strips are going to bother you much more than the colour.

Can I just say what an amazing addition to the vlogs Lee and Mark are, like even if its just random shenanigans or them helping you out with one of your ADHD projects, they're always in the thick of it and getting involved!

Unfortunately i thought it was only a matter of time before something disgusting like this happened. I know the mill had been set on fire before but it's just strange how a few days after you visited it that it got burned down again. In no way am I laying any blame at your feet it's just that there are wee rats out there who can't stand seeing people doing well and think by doing things like this that it makes them in some way important.
