Bad News - Update on Grandma

Grandma made the right decision. I've seen the "cure" ruin the precious last days too many times. Now she can live her final days without pain, and make sure she has said all she wants to say to everyone before going to be with the Lord. Granny and Miss Cindy remain in my daily prayers.

So sorry for the report. My mother died at home with cancer and yes, it is hard, but near the end during the worst pain God blessed Mom by showing her glimpses of heaven, which was wonderful! She went from being afraid of death to looking forward to it. God is good and miraculous! I will be praying for you all. I am glad you have your faith!

I was 38 when my mom entered hospice. She never smoked or drank any alcohol, lived a pretty healthy lifestyle. Genetics proved BRCA1, BRCA2, and triple negative breast cancer that metastasized everywhere. As an only child, I felt the truest sense of “alone” in a way I still can’t fully describe regardless of my supportive family and friends. I believe we grieve loss in the way our loved one lived their life ~ and the way you’ve described Ms. Cindy, she is so true to her faith in the lord that she is content (and wise) to choose quality over quantity. What a beautiful example of facing the “graduation date” that we will all meet (one way or the other) with strength, dignity and peace. I think that is incredibly brave, and a testament of her ultimate love for her family. God never said bad things wouldn’t happen to good people. He only said to give thanks and love one another. I give thanks to y’all for sharing your human experience with the world ~ you carry on Ms. Cindy’s courage! My mom would joke and say “do you mean to tell me all these years I could have had a second piece of pie?!?!” Sending love, prayers, grace and seconds on dessert ~ and don’t forget to use the “good” china even if all we’re celebrating is pie on a Monday night! ❤😊❤

I'm so, so sorry girls. My prayers are with you all. I lost my mom when I was 24, she had lung cancer that went to her brain. She never smoked. My Momma was so good and I just couldn't understand but God carried me through, even when I was blaming him. The last words my momma said to me was "go to church Patty" In time I realized, how much mercy and grace our Lord had given me. I'm 73 now, and can still hear my momma say those words, and I know now she was saying 'keep the faith, Patty'. My prayers are for Miss Cindy's comfort. Love you girls.

My mother died of bone cancer. I remember the morning of her passing. She was having trouble breathing and it was very hard to watch her go through that. The most difficult prayer I ever prayed was for the Lord to take her home instead of letting her suffer. It was about 30 minutes later and the Lord called my sweet momma home. Just hold tight to him and pray for what you need. He is true and will see your family through. Hold fast to the knowledge that God can and does still perform miracles everyday. It's all in his time. I lost all of my grandparents by the time I turned 18, and 20 years removed from losing my last one, my memories of them are fading, as bad as that is to say (of course I remember things, but not as much as I want to). Y'all are extremely fortunate to have your grandma in your lives into adulthood. So the only thing I would say is, as you pray for her, focus on your memories. Remember every single one of the good times. Write some of them down. If you have to. Gather all the photos into a book. Make copies. Collate all of the footage that you have of her. Watch it and remember it. Make sure those memories don't fade. Take care of yourselves. Take care of your family. All of us, even though we don't know you, care about you. You have all made our lives better just by sharing yours. So we are with you, now, in this moment. Please take care. 😊

Spend as much time as you can loving on your Grandma Make memories. Be together with family. If she's up to it have her tell you stores. Record and write them down. Show her your love and what she has taught you. Praying for you all.
