Fascinating, as always! Schuyler Street is still the same old Schuyler Street as it was 60 years ago and probably 150 years ago, black cats and all.

I love how the NYSW uses one of the most visible, eye catching paint schemes out there yet people still don’t notice it.

That BH Flat had a nice load of steel box-section headed for some Engineering industry. Good to see as well as the Train proceeding along the street. Thanks for posting.

Being sort of a train nut, I think that that would be so neat----having a train run down the front street! ! !

The crew was in no supernatural danger--that cat had some white markings so it wasn't all black. 🙂 Thanks for another of your videos from upstate NY. It was nice to see a NYS&W loco on the local. And the portable derail for construction was very interesting to see. Cheers from Wisconsin!

I guess Witold decided to stay home this time. Those feral cats would have been moving a lot faster if he came along. LOL
@railroadingrambler218 Жыл бұрын
I have one cat, Willa. On rare occasion, Witold will chase her in the house. He'll strain on his leash when he spies a cat while we're out walking...so I suspect he would've caused some concern to the tabbies if he was "on location".

Very neat operational video as usual. Seeing them use the siding to run around and so forth.

A nice non-conventional day after the cat run by. You no sooner say that and that van swerved to the right aiming for a pole followed by the garbage truck coming straight on like a bull. I thought the cat growled at you but it did look a bit like Dirt the recently-departed cat at the Nevada Northern Roundhouse. Thanks for including the construction scenes at the bridge and they didn't Sideswipe anyting. Was that a separate person not actually on the train crew? All the projects UP had in Milwaukee got a flag man. This would have been way too much activity for Witold
@railroadingrambler218 Жыл бұрын
Yes, the gent who removed the derail was a railroad employee. I’m told by a friend who is a retired CSX dispatcher that a railroad-employee flagman will be on-scene this kind of work and that the contractor must reimburse the railroad for that expense. You’re right about that cat: he sure looked like Dirt (only a bit cleaner) and I do think I heard a growl!

@@railroadingrambler218 I think Sylvester knows his place because you are the Sultan of Schuyler Street. That's how the UP did it except since that was a Mainline construction ceased 20 minutes before train arrival

I liked watching the car approaching this train, around the 1:52 mark, and the engineer needs to blow the train's horn so to "wake up" the motor vehicle operator. Great catch, in my opinion.

HA,HA, that black cat meant no harm, my black cat traipses around my HO setup without knocking anything off, but let me start a train, and hes outta there 😼😾🤣🤣🤣🤣😃😀😲😱❗Big 22 pound cat, but small trains!

I've been seeing NYSW crews checking on the crossings at the Alvogen (formerly Norwich Pharmaceuticals) plant in North Norwich and the Main Street crossing in Norwich. I hope this means they're going to start running trains south of Sangerfield eventually.

Myself, since reading some of the recent comments about potential service south of Sangerfield, NY, I have been utilizing Google's Earth feature so to check out some of the grade crossings south thereof, using their street viewing images. Of course, the images are from 2017, however, I noticed some of the dirt filled flangeways in the images. The track conditions appear to be in very good condition for unused trackage! Thanks for the comments, so to spark my curiosity!
