In my opinion, Luffy in his Gear 5 state is a homage to the golden age of animation and gag manga from the seventies. He operates based on the "rule of funny," which has always been a part of the series.

The Bakotsu is literally the name of a skeletal horse yokai but it's also literally just the Japanese word used for any skeleton horse. If anything the Ice powers that Venus has makes it seem less likely to be the "fire horse" version of the Bakotsu that is the yokai.

I saw people argue that Jinbe didn't attack Lucci and 5,000 Brick fist was a smoke screen tecniche, which I'm like Huh ??? and they argue that so the attack that knocked Lucci out of his awakened form wasn't Jinbe's one but Zoro's. To me Jinbe attack was clearly directed at Lucci.

Yeah, Jinbei apologised because he's literally attacking a beaten, bruised, barely standing Lucci. If he didn't attack Lucci he'd have no reason to actually feel bad about his action. But of course this moment gets used for either Zoro slander or get twisted for Zoro defence.

I'm sorry but, please fix the audio mixing on these videos, man 💀 I'll be listening to the vids at work and I both have to crank the audio to max AND I hear the most obnoxious chewing for like.. 40% of the video at times. I may not always agree on the channels takes for things, but holy fuck, noise gates or some better audio mixing would go a long way. I do really enjoy the content, for better or worse. Luffy fighting Zoro is out of character though. Sure Luffy hadn’t know Zoro for long and this was before “Zoro learned his friends were important” in Alabasta. But this was also after Zoro lost to Mihawk and swore on his best friends blade that he would never lose again and never make Luffy worry about him. While also being the first person since Shanks to believe in his dream of becoming PK. Plus Nami literally betrayed Luffy the day he met her and turned him into Buggy yet he still trusted her and even after she stole the Merry he trusted her. As for “Zoro is the infamous, evil, bounty hunter guy” Robin was a literal enemy who tried to kill Igaram and was an actual assassin. At least Zoro took down pirates, none of which are innocent, while Robin killed whoever.

Great Video guys! and thanks again for using my suggestions One last time, I got three more If your interested. 1. The One Piece Dub 4kids and Funimation. Anime dubs in general get alot of crap, but One Piece's Dub in particular gets a lot of disrespect. I personally like it but what do you guys think, and not just Funimations, 4kids as well.To be fair 4kids sometimes desrves some of their critics but I feel they gets shit on a lot to the point the jokes kinda gets dull, I think it's mediocre at worst and enjoyably corny and silly at best, like classic Speed Racer dub. Funimation's is much more faithful and yet I still here people talk bad about it, like how all the voice actors sound like the Dragon Ball Z cast, which to be fair yes they are , but hey, not everyone's seen the Dragon Ball Dub. Bottom line, I've always wanted to know your stance not only on this, but the Dub vs Sub thing in general. 2. Dragon looking East. Now to be fair a lot of us are waiting for dragon to do something and its grueling to wait, but I understand that Oda's clearly waiting for the right time to put Dragon in the forefront, and I'm patient about it. Though I know a lot of people aren't so patient and say some very dumb stuff. 3. Expectations for Elbaf. WIth Elbaf seemingly being the next arc, I've seen many people talk about what's to come, From Usopp being the focus and getting a Haki power up, to who's gonna be the villain like Loki, Big Mom, Enel, Kidd, to the Lore we may learn. I just wanna know your thoughts. Hope these are worth a discussion. Thank You.

Also I think you guys are kind of straw manning why people are upset about the timer. IT seems very contrived because... point number 1. How is 10 minutes even enough time to even get a transponder snail THEN set up a projector for places like Fuschia village? If the idea is the message isn't as effective without visuals, why hastily slap a 10-minute KZbin premier timer on it, some places clearly need more time. Then on the other hand IF visuals are truly optional what's the point of a 10-minute timer? There is no indication that there needs to be some form of installation to the non-visual snails, most people get them and use them like phones and radios instantly. In conclusion they either need way more than 10 minutes OR no time at all to literally prepare to listen to a broadcast. Point number 2. This is much more personal, but Oda has been VERY bad at utilizing his limited chapter time if you will. The urgency that's trying to be presented during egghead has completely fallen flat with how Oda has executed them. For example, spending time on characters reactions to the Gorōsei reviving over and over again while never giving any further Insite to what that character thinks about that power instead of making surface level comments "wow he's tough" or "what a wild ability". Sanji and jinbei actually had a pretty interesting remark to the 5 elders' powers, but that's amidst every character having some generic remark. Even lame ass Sabo called his brief spar with the Gorōsei "hellish" which is interesting because he's SEEN THE WORST OF THE CELESTIAL DRAGONS. I'd love to be proven wrong, but we know these 10 minutes will go one for a very long time and nothing interesting will happen until its nearly over, Wano has proven that to me. And before you strawman me NO I don't want some earth-shattering event to happen in the 6 minutes we have left before the broadcast I just want Oda to utilize characters optimally in this stall period, and not just introduce 15 things with no build up or payoff. (I won't forget when egghead started off as a cool who done it just for Oda to LITERALLY FAST FORWARD ALL OF IT)

Until now, I honestly thought Queen being an okama was a confirmed thing. Like there's not blatantly obvious counters to it so I thought it was stated somewhere so I was like "... I guess?" Thanks for mythbusting that one. Also, the Fishman Island slander is so goddamn ridiculous, every time I watch a "first time through one piece" kinda thing, they ALWAYS love the arc. The One Piece anime was a mistake.

If Sanji does it by vibing out their gender identity and going from there, then honestly thats great I love the idea of him being able to do that.

I think the whole thing about Luffy vs Zoro being out of character stems from the fact that Luffy knew Nami for less time than he knew Zoro. And despite the fact that Nami seemingly betrayed them during Baratie, the entirety of Arlong Park happens because of Luffy’s trust in Nami. I personally neither like nor hate the fight, and you could chalk it up to Luffy being drunk, but I feel like saying Luffy was out of character during it isn’t the most outlandish claim imo

But Luffy has straight up seen in person that Nami can't bring herself to kill, even if it would benefit herself. Also, Luffy literally declares he's going to take down Dofflamingo because Rebecca gave him some yummy food. To Luffy if you give him yummy food then you're a friend, we see a similar situation when it came to Hachi and delicious Takoyaki.

I think if Zoro was accused of betraying the crew in an Arlong Park esc way Luffy would believe in Zoro. But that’s not what happened at whiskey peak, Luffy thinks Zoro got too rough with some nice strangers.
