I had one for nearly 2 years and it was a blast on the track and an absolute headturner even here in the states where we are spoiled for V8s, traded it on a Giulia because well, it's not nearly as fun to drive to work, or pay for fuel as it is on the track, though not horrible in that respect it is a bit much, about as close as I'd ever want to get to driving a race car on the street. Better to have a dedicated track car in the long run I think. The cost to track it was also obscene I think I'd rather have a hoopty miata and go more often to develop my skills.

Thanks as always for the video. The only thing I have to say is, with a car with such a high revving engine, try using engine compression more to slow the car instead of stabbing the brakes with your left foot. Stabbing the brakes, especially with a heavier car, throws the weight around, which upsets the car, which I'm very sure you knew

Good stuff! Next, need a more properly prepared GT350. And for Misha to not be in a rush lol The factory brake pads (at least in the US) are believed to be Ferrodo DS2500 (similar to a Hawk HP+?) so that's likely your issue here. The factory calipers/rotors are massive so that shouldn't be the issue. I recently switched my fronts over to Hawk DTC60s to get a little more initial bite and thermal capacity for piece of mind. I also like to run a 305 square tire setup (still fits on factory wheels.) I recently finished a set of Cup 2s, and while they were decent, they only lasted 1,600 miles which, for the cost, is absolutely insane and unacceptable IMO. I only had them because I found a like-new set for $1200. But the car is pretty much exclusively driven on the Tail of the Dragon so it gets some serious use.
@maximborodyuk3773 Жыл бұрын
cup2's are not that good option for gt350 imo. Maybe oem do a good job, but overall there are better tires, e.g. goodyear supersport R/supercar 3R are fitting the car much better. I had one set of cup2, porsche homologation (more durability), and they degrade tremendously after 1 track-day, and was dead completely (cord) after like 2.5-3 days. 305 square for the win, especially on proper 11 square wheel setup!

I agree with your comments about the light clutch and tires completely. I have a 2017 GT350 and put in a stiffer clutch spring to solve the clutch feel issue. For tires, Michelin Pilot Sport 4s tires in stock size at the front with 325s in the rear make a HUGE difference and solve the handling problems. I haven't run into any braking problems with the new tires, but it would be great to hear if your friend finds the tire change fixes this too. Last, did you try both suspension modes? The sport setting is too stiff for the street and I'm curious if you used it or not.

I own one of each and GT350 is better but wow GT Mustang is awesome with this bolt-on mod and a couple others. Many GT350 needs a more aggressive Magnaride track mapping. 2020 on GT350's have one --OEM-- along with slightly tighter spring rates and slightly better aero. Slightly isn't much at 70 mph but at 120 Up it's a Lot more. One has to be careful as this becomes a disease always fixing the weakest link and most mods reduce value of the car

Okay Misha, are you still favoring the Mach 1 over the GT350 if the tires were better? Also, I would like to see more traffic because the Mach 1 seemed to hold its own very well as far as handling even if it was down on power compared to the GT350.

Tires make the most difference

Mach 1 is a better overall car. The GT350 is kind of dead (for a sports car) below 4500 rpm’s and the engine is a ticking time bomb.

@@TML34ticking Timw bomg 😂😂😂😂 You are very uninformed lol Literally only a few cars less then 8 cars engines went because of driver error and or something when assembling the car.

@@TML34 only problems with the engines were people not checking their oil after tracking the car hard. they did strengthen the block because they were going to use that engine in the new GT 500 with a supercharger putting out 760 hp
