Great stuff! Thank you! This reminds me of an ACT training I attended where emphasis was put on uncovering what the client is doing even when they say they're not doing anything. For example, if they are talking about depression and saying, "I sit around and don't do anything." The question being, what are the actual actions involved in that? Are they sleeping? Are they watching TV without being really involved? Are they staring out into space for minutes at a time? That at least gives a sense of something that can be contrasted and turned into an increase or decrease goal as you describe.

Very helpful. As an intern, I have not had this broken down or explained by any clinical supervisor to date; this was very informative and will help as I document and write treatment plans. Thank you!

I attended an AA meeting in Louisville, Kentucky 30 years ago where an Oldtimer was the speaker. During his speech, with his strong southern accent, he boldly stated, "I never seen a self-esteem!" I found the statement shocking, disturbing, and humorous. And certainly memorable.😆

Out of curiosity, will an insurance company recoup money if they don’t like your goals or if they are not SMART goals?
@MaelisaMcCaffrey5 ай бұрын
@@freerangethinker5151 not if they don’t “like” the goals, but if the goals aren’t related to the symptoms, diagnosis, and impairment. And if the notes don’t relate to the goals, there’s also potential.
