A few times I have seen stranded vehicles in a live lane and the majority of the time it is severe mechanical failure preventing the wheels from turning, locked / broken differential or seized drivetrain. A few times it has been a simple flat tyre where someone refused to drive on it but we do need to give the benefit of doubt occasionally that it can't move. This one appears they tried to move as they are close to entering lane 1 and at an angle so I suspect that van isn't going anywhere until recovery can lift and shift or drag the van away 👍

Last week, I went to a sleepy town in South Wales for a beard tidy up (yes, you read that right). Limited roadside parking is allowed, and I spotted a space opposite my driving side, and I snatched it. All the time I was in the "salon" (a posh word for a barber) I felt guilty that I had parked facing oncoming traffic, and this was broad daylight. I have no idea why people feel the need to do it in the dark and have their lights on.
@InBodWeTrust9 ай бұрын
*Some* cars will automatically put the lights on - at least the DRLs - when warming up. I know you can manually turn them off, but that assumes you're actually in the car - some cars (especially EVs) have apps which allow you to remotely turn on the HVAC; this tends to wake up the BCM (Body Control Module) which thus turns on the lights.
@lovrito20089 ай бұрын
But on every car you can turn on only the side lights when they're parked. I think it's a legal requirement. Side lights won't dazzle other road users
@InBodWeTrust9 ай бұрын
@@lovrito2008 You've either misunderstood or haven't properly read my comment.
