Love the comment at 3:18 about the "job of the police to make sure we are safe". All went out the window years ago, that is why we have so much crime and the government are behind it with stuff like this and soft sentences all round! Well done, another brilliant video and yes, let us have the in cab moments too!

As a recently retired ex long haul lorry driver (UK and Europe) it's amazing that after a very short time of doing the job you soon learn which car is going to do what just by the make of the vehicle, but the stupidity is still mainly in the UK.

I completely agree with the visual you shown explaining the hierarchy of the road, it is based on a scientific principle using the average number of brain cells, low to high, left to right. I don’t understand how anyone with common sense can argue with it.! Great work buddy.

I used to work in a minicab office in Croydon years ago, so no suprise to hear how passengers are still very clever at not telling you exactly the who and what is going into a cab they try all the tricks in the book so understand your frustration and worry on that journey.

Having briefly scanned other comments I will assume that all 3 ⛽head moments have been correctly identified. ⛽️head 2 definitely reminds me of a car used in a 🎥 The California Kid - Martin Sheen if memory serves - and was up against the Sheriff driving a Plymouth Fury 58 - similar to "Christine"; also was used to cause a few ☠️☠️☠️. Both movies are worth watching. Tales from the Cab are very welcome and interesting. As for the rest...... too many clips for comment without a 15000 word dissertation. The "bag of wet 💩" phrase was missed. Glad to hear it back in use once more. Cheers for the 🤣🤣🤣 Tony.

Hi Tony! Hope you’re well. I’ll start by saying cab stories is a great idea 😊. Today I was on a double decker bus on a fairly busy main road in Paignton, Devon, where a car just pulled out from a side road RIGHT IN FRONT of the bus. I couldn’t see if the driver was on their phone or anything because I was sat upstairs. It was incredibly dangerous because of course buses cannot stop on a pinhead particularly double decker buses. I take my hat off to the bus driver for reacting so calmly and quickly. He did hit the brakes of course but he didn’t use the horn or shout anything. He might have lit this driver up though or at least flashed them, but again being upstairs I didn’t see.

If I think you're wrong Tony then I'll say in the comments without resorting to the "misinformation" label or slagging you off. I will say though that the vast majority of the time I have no complaints at all with your POV or commentary but you will always have the people who deliberately don't listen to what you say and who then write their own narrative based on what they wanted to hear. Haters are always gonna hate fella and if you have a YT channel I think you develop a very thick skin over time, you shouldn't worry too much though as most people here are pretty agreeable folks who are willing to listen and comment. The fact that you have over 12k subs shows you're doing something right so keep putting out the videos and ignore the comment clowns😁😍😁😍😉

Normally on St Giles in Oxford, there are hordes of tourist crossing that wide road, not looking. You were lucky to find it so empty. Even the Oxford Pedestrians Association has come up with a plan to change that road to have separate fully marked lanes for pedestrians, cyclists and cars with a wide area for people to sit on the other side. As it is a short wide stretch in between 3 narrower roads, it isn't worth changing the speed limit for that bit of road. As for the road past the hospital to Marston, that is ridiculous. It is a recent layout with wider bicycle lanes, so they don't need to put beware of cycle signs in the centre. That only makes sense in places like Cowley Road which doesn't have cycle lanes. Also more people travel to work in Oxford by walking or cycling than take a car [Census 2021], so the street design tries to protect the more vulnerable majority from the car driving minority. That is all that the hierarchy means - how vulnerable are different road users from the bad driving shown your videos. Paying tax does not give anyone the right to put others at risk, no matter how much self entitlement car wax they use.

Petrol head moments - first one on the trailer is a Frazer Nash and the third, by the M3 turn off, is a Citroen Traction Avant. (my wife's favourite car) - I need a bigger anorak. BMW towing the FN on the trailer is allowed in the outside lane because it is a BMW. It's also probably out there as it wants the next junction. German car highway code is simple. Right lane to turn left or exit a motorway, left lane to turn right. Simples. That's why the other BMWs carved you up - they were going left.

Regarding your Hierarchy of Road Users you could sub divide the pedestrians to put runners at the top. I’m referring to the ones that run towards you in the road. They seem oblivious to what’s behind them and whether you can get round them and aim straight at you. They are not in the Olympics or organised marathon so just stop running and contribute to their own safety.

That whole section on funding vs hierarchy is nonsense. Hierarchy is about road safety not money. I don’t care if you personally pay 100% of every road in the U.K., it still wouldn’t entitle you to run people over. So please don’t conflate safety with money. Incidentally the funding, maintenance costs, economic and social benefits, environmental costs etc. is far more complicated than you describe and the VED barely scratches the surface in funding it. Also, although councils are responsible for maintaining the roads they get the vast majority of their money from central government not council tax.

The highway code clearly says, give larger vehicles room to maneuver, had the bus driver kept more to the nearside, the rear wheels would have gone over the grass verge and got very close to the lamppost, you could very easily have slow down to give the bus driver more room

11:40 I have no idea what it was so looked it up. With a quick search though, I've found it's a Frazer Nash Fast Tourer 16:57 Not sure on that one. Guessing it's maybe a Ford? 27:18 - Had to google that one - Citroen Light 15. 13:05 Been on the M25 that long, huh? 😅 Cab stories would be great! 25:06 & 25:35 Many indicate and move at the same time. They need to read higway code rule 162. The second BMW driver especially IMO is driving carelessly and could be prosecuted for that manoeuvre. Didn't leave a lot of room in front of the next 2 cars he moved in front of either, especially not enough braking distance that's for sure. 29:12 All perfectly legal! Except it's speeding, has an obstructed view L plate on the back and fitted obstructed L plate on the front. it's MOT ran out on the 19th of July (3 days later) and it's now SORN! Let's hope you don't see it on the road again! 😅

07:47 I think that bus turned that corner a bit too fast. If he’d of done it with less speed he might not have been so wide.

The black car on the Ewell bypass didn't turn left it went straight on to Epsom and all it did was use all of the road and merged in turn, reducing the queue. Pause it at 8:45 and you will see it going straight on. The blue Peugeot though was a complete numpty

I have had run ins with smilerbob myself "all cyclists have home insurance"; no they dont. "Yes they do, all my mates have home insurance". I dont. "But everyone I know has home insurance!" So you ask everyone you know?? I doubt it; I know a lot of people who ride bikes, because they are too poor for a car - which also means too poor to splash out on house insurance. Yet he still keeps copy/pasting the same crap.

at 20:40 that is one very wide lane each way - there are no lane-dividing markings, so it is a single lane though going by the width of it, it probably used to be two lanes each way Sheffield is nowhere near as extreme with speed limits as Oxford or Cambridge (there's far fewer cyclists, for a start - the only flat land is on top of some people's heads!), but you can definitely tell which major roads in the district are trunk routes, as opposed to council-run: they're only ones with National Speed Limit, all the others have 50 limits
