@@mikesphotography Yes, I nearly spent a night on some sea cliffs when I lost the path and the sun was rapidly setting . Nobody knew where I was ( except the sheep and they weren't telling!) That was very dumb to just wander up on the hills to get some photos and I got thoroughly rebuked by my friends afterward .... I probably still would do the spontaneous hike again but maybe earlier in the day and not with a full backpack of Charity shop finds as well as my camera gear and no phone....

Great video, Mike. Avoiding people while placing drone batteries down your pants takes second place to having someone watch me watch a video of a guy sticking drone batteries down his pants. My wife walked by just as you were doing that and said “What the hell are you watching”. She said if I was going to watch stuff like that on the internet, she was glad I was getting some camera tips in the process. All of these tips are really great. I hope you and your wife are doing well. Take care, brother.

Creative video work is at a whole new level in this episode, brilliantly entertaining! 👏👏 Some good general mountain safety tips right there, often overlooked by the casual walker. I've seen some sights in the Brecon Beacons: mini skirts, high heels and bikini bra - and that's just the guys!! Seriously, people tend to dress for what they see as they look out of the window on the day rather than the forecast for the whole day, including any micro climate shenanigans that often arrive without much warning. That would definitely be one of my top tips, read the forecast and dress/pack accordingly. Top video 👌😉

Haha!! How did you know my mum was behind the lens!! 😆😆 Thanks so much for your kind words Alvin, I have a lot of fun writing filming and editing these videos so it is great to hear you're enjoying them! The capture clip does work really well. I have been using the a7iv with the tamron 50-400mm which is a combined weight of about 5lbs and it handles this no problem. It does have a solid bit of metal at the bottom, so the clip physically can't drop out of it. You'd have to be upside down and the release button would need to be pressed for it to come out. Thanks for watching and great to hear you'll be watching as long as I am making these videos!! 😁👍

Humor underscored the message, Mike - made it less “preaching” and held viewer attention - nice! Love the cliff-hanger and quick change bits. Sensor cleaning in the field? Really??? Most advise cleaning in a place as clean and temp/humidity controlled indoors environment as possible. I’d prefer to miss out on a shot than risk messing up camera innards - no kidding. Pants warming thing for batteries OK, as long as you don’t have a high fiber diet😊. One thing to include in bag -- sheep repellent!😊 How about doing a similar post, but emphasizing hot weather outings? Cheers!
@mikesphotography2 жыл бұрын
Haha!! Yep, a high fibre diet might be something to avoid ... I really have cleaned my sensor in the field ... as long as no moisture gets in the camera, it is quite robust. The sensor actually has a glass coating over the top so you're actually cleaning that and not the sensor itself. I'll definitely be doing a summer one in about 6 months time ... don't think I'd be able to handle the temperature in shorts and a t-shirt!! 😆 As always thanks for watching Paul 😁👍

Enjoyed this one, Mike! Armpits also make good battery warming centers! I find having a Peak Design Cuff ( the wrist strap) attached to my camera at all times means my camera is more to the ready ( and more secure in my hand) to get those "sheep" shots ( James Popsys knows what I am talking about!) The Lowepro rain cover has definitely saved me a few times.

I've got 2 capture clips and thinking of getting a third, those things are brilliant! When out I have one on my backpack strap and the other on my belt with the extender so whenever I need to remove the bag I can just clip the camera to my hip. I'm still skeptical about those photography gloves but I'm beginning to warm up to the idea... I can do a pretty decent job of fiddling with my camera even with thick gloves on and I use a cheapo stylus to poke around the DJI RC controller screen. Great video!
