The steel bolt + CO2 magazine increases the recoil and blowback by a lot. I upgraded mine since the steel bolt is now available as a single part for purchase.

You can actually speed 'em up pretty significantly by either adding buffers to the rear causing it to short-stroke &/or by using a lighter bolt (usually requires removing metal). The old-school technique to make a buffer was to glue some quarters/coins together with a few strips of rubber/nylon on the end, but nowadays there's professionally made ones too (BlackJack). Ammo selection also has a more significant impact when using buffers. The standard 124gr NATO 9mm loads run at about the same rate as watered down American 115gr ammo without a buffer, around 550rpm. But *_with_* a buffer you can get 115gr to run anywhere from 650rpm, to nearly 990rpm, or at any increment of 100 between those depending on buffer length. The 115gr usually runs faster because it recoils a bit less. I personally like around 750rpm, but like I said, it's not hard to adjust with some minor tuning. (This only applies to full-size versions, Minis and Micros already have buffers, lighter/shorter bolts, and less space to play with.

I will be 55 years old this year. So I watched Magnum PI on Friday nights, along with Miami Vice. Those TV shows introduced me to the UZI. In one episode Magnum was dressed in Tiger Stripe, wore a black beret and packed an UZI! For Airsoft I have settled on a CAR 15 for my retro impressions. But the UZI is still very iconic! Someday I will trade in my VFC CAR 15 for a Viper Tech CAR 15! Awesome video bud!💥🎸🔥

Former gen 1 owner here, sold mine to a reenactor after NE's improvements still weren't making it gameable in UK weather. I had the same experience with the Sten (and sold that to a reenactor as well) and early users are saying the same about the Famas. It's really unfortunate because NE externals are always great but it's like you say near the beginning, at some point it's not much different to a deactivated gun

Good thing you were able to shift it. Such a shame as it’s a beautiful little gat. The thing that got me the most was the mag jams. It just couldn’t be enjoyed.

@@BadaBingPictures yep I made the same steps as you with filing the entry ledge down and a little bit of PTFE in the new groove, this worked but it was a hassle to get it right as I had to file at a very shallow angle inward (so like 1mm inward to remove the shelf and then 4mm upward into the lip as an example, not real measurements) and not remove so much material that it caused the side by side stack issue that you showed. To be frank though, it just wasn't worth the effort with the other issues the gun has anyway.

Pretty typical for new airsoft designs in my experience. I've gotten some real awful replicas over the 17ish years I've been playing because I always go for unique designs. I really want their FAMAS because of all the gaming nostalgia it gives me, but I'm going to hold off a few years for that reason. I'm finally getting ready to jump on a TM AKM GBBR, I was waiting for the aftermarket to grow and any teething issues to work themselves out since it was their first AK GBBR.

@Misfit_SG I've been hearing good things about the akm, I haven't bothered myself though because of the externals, it would cost quite a bit to get it sorted in steel and wood. Good luck!

@ you’re dead right. Besides the rare lightning in a bottle moments, all modern films lack quality. To the point where expositional scenes almost break the fourth wall as they’re desperately trying to convey the plot to an audience of primates. Take the often referenced scene from ‘Raiders of the lost Ark’, where the Federal Agents are given a briefing by Indiana Jones. The plot reveals itself with a wave of mysticism and intrigue. Teasingly wetting our appetites for more information, but only giving us just enough for that moment. On paper it’s nothing special, but when you’ve got fine actors…man do they deliver a captivating performance with only dialogue. These days it’s blatantly obvious. They go through the motions to rush in the next spectacular event. Anyway, yes! Cinema used to be something special. I often scour my local cinema for when they show old films. I was lucky enough to catch several last year, which I wrote about on my IG acc. Thank you, Deck. It’s super to be joined by cool people. Cheers ☕️

Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. I’ve gauged the feedback from owners on the HRC GBB Discord and the feelings are overall positive with the last batches of MP2’s. So you should receive a reliable unit if you purchase one new. If it absolutely MUST be a full size GBB Uzi, then you have no other choice. Tailor it to suit your preferences. Ultimate realism and recoil = Steel Bolt. Efficiency and ROF = Alloy bolt version etc… In terms of GBB SMG’s in general…I believe there are better options available.

What a great in-depth review (as usual) My wife has this rif and she loves it. It was bought 2nd hand bit as a V3 version, so I will take it apart later and look at the nozzle see if it has the spring, if not I'll add it, thank you. The only thing I have done to her is mod it so it can take a pic rail to add an optic. I agree with part support, as I normally like to get in a few things that I think will wear as a preventative. Do you think the steel bolt they do would enhance the experience? I have toyed with the idea of grabbing one.
@BadaBingPictures
@BadaBingPictures 15 күн бұрын
Cheers buddy! You can test it without having to completely take it down. Rack open the bolt and simply push the nozzle back. If the stand-off spring is there you will see it spring in and out. I believe they began shipping the nozzles with that spring around mid-2024. It’s no big deal to make up one, as long as you have a generic donor spring and a dremel. If I can do it, anyone can. The steel bolt would certainly improve the experience by a high margin. To the detriment of gas efficiency, of course. It’s extremely heavy for the system.

Great production!! My version 1 is still not working, after a ridiculous amount of mods and upgraded parts it still just degasses all the time, making it expensive just to test the damn thing! This is happening inside a nice warm house, any idea ideas? I've been building GBBR's for 15 years and have over a 100 in my collection (ok a few AEG's in there too to fill in spots) and I think this is one of the only non-functioning ones I have except for the gas King Arms straight-pull sniper rifle I'm currently fixing as it's internals were made of 'cheese' as you would put it so I'm having to make them by hand out of steel.

I had a similar thing when I’d shoot on Fully Auto, where it would start to vent gas. I made a video on this issue, and a few other problems I was seeing. I used a stiffer nozzle return spring and I removed the thick rubber buffer. That basically eliminated that problem for me.

@@BadaBingPictures I changed the valve and spring for the valve in the nozzle, shaved down the centre plastic spline in the piston body, did the hot glue trick etc... changed the alignment and spring for the valve knocker, pinned the gen 1 mags so they don't slide up anymore, polished the crap out of everything, tried all different buffers offered. I guess I'll try and get hold of a gen 3 piston/valve setup and add the buffer spring if I haven't already done it as I watched all your other videos back then. Now my VFC MP7 is giving me similar grief! Done valve changes etc.. on that too... Cheers and Happy New Year!

I’m getting ready to get my first GBBR and was thinking about getting the WE G36? Good idea or bad idea?
@BadaBingPictures
@BadaBingPictures 15 күн бұрын
Merry New Year to you, Red Beard. The WE G36 was one of my very first GBBR’s and while I might be a tad biased towards it, I think it’s an excellent choice for a first time GBBR player. I’ve reviewed it before: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fovFi56QgZiWaKcsi=qCm8BlMA9FbcicVD Now, some of the internal components are relatively soft. So replacing them over a long period of time is to be expected. However this only gives you a good opportunity to become proficient in learning the mechanics and will help you as you cultivate replacing your AEG’s with GBB’s. Heh. You get exceptional performance from the box. An overall simple system to work around. Best of all, it’s very affordable. It’s one of the reasons why I’ve bought several of them since they were first released. I can talk an air raid siren to scrap about this series of rifles, but to save you the agonising pain- it’s a good idea from my experience.

Hey Badabing, so did it cost a lot to rent a whole studio in Hollywood? TBH I've been dragging my feet to get my NE Famas. I don't understand why the Sten was discontinued and all the Uzi problems have really discouraged me, so I've skipped the 2024/Q4 preorder too. As an Englishmen you're probably not interested anyway, but what do you think I should do? Should I just get the AEG and be done with it?
@BadaBingPictures
@BadaBingPictures 16 күн бұрын
It was extremely expensive! But I like to make cool videos for cool people. If you’d like to drag your feet for a while longer…the NEA FAMAS has the potential to be epic. If I was that way inclined, I’d hold out for a GBBR version.
