Steelhead fishing is about really liking the challenge of catching them. It takes a special skill to be good at it because even fishing a river filled with fish I’ve seen grown men cry over how tough it can be. I got really good at not due to a special skill but I loved it so.

@@BadAshOutdoors It killed me trying to teach my grandson how to feel the bite of a fish on eggs so I put him in a hole full of fish and he still didn’t get it I even put a beanie over my eyes to show him it was a feel like subtle electricity. When he finally got it with a shocked surprised look in his eyes and hooked his first fish the race was on as to who could catch the first one. He loved it after that.

@@BadAshOutdoors the Coquille river in the eighties was planted very heavily. One year I caught two for me and two for my friend and the next day two for me and he caught two. I fished every day fishable for three months. So it added up. Then I settled down to about twenty some a year along with salmon. Now I can’t go anymore due to old man health reasons so I liked to watch someone enjoy the hunt. Just try to keep them in the water and make sure they live because every fish I let go hurt plagues me to this day. I should have fished less and taken more of the family more although I have been married forty three years now. My kids got super picky and only wanted the super bright ones to eat. I miss it so. But it’s your turn now! No need to reply.
