Use to Dory fish with my dad from Pacific City when I was just a wee lad. It is so much fun and a little scary at the same time. We had a whale come up next to us one time and I remember mom picking me up so I could reach over the side to pet the whale. That’s how close it was. We all thought it was the coolest thing in the world while dad had a look on his face of pure fear. Mom asked him why he looked so scared. He told her it was because of how dangerous the situation was. If the whale decided to smack his tail it would have sank the boat or even worse killed us. As a kid I didn’t even think of that. Still the coolest memory of growing up around the Oregon coast I have to this day. I can still remember the look in the whales eye and the feel of the barnacles on it like it was yesterday.

Never get tired of people’s reactions going out and especially when we land. It’s always the same for first timers whoops on the way out and deep laughs after we slide up, always makes the trip for me. It’s a great community to fish in and with. Kyle and Miles are a class act, good choice. Thanks for a good video

Great video. It reminds me I need to get my dads old Penn 706z restored. It would be perfect for black bass in the ocean. He used it for striped bass in Rhode Island back in the 1980s.

Super cool video, that’s a hell of a lingcod you caught there I’m so jealous. I love bottom fish but unless the ocean is completely flat I can’t go, I just can’t deal with any waves 😞 Your videos keep getting better and if I had three thumbs I’d give it a “Three thumbs up”👍👍👍
